    Ouch, that's rough on the Barber Halves. Sometimes, light cleaning on those even get passed as "market acceptable." Hopefully the submitter gets a good education from the experience.

    Agreed. I have nothing to hide on mine. I could see why someone would want them private though for more high profile coins. But for my modern crap it doesn't matter to me lol.

    So when the graders see a bunch of problem coins, do they tend to grade the batch tighter than, say the 1st 6 coins were "nice for the grade" examples, and coins 7 and 8 were borderline cleaned? Or does it make any difference?

    If you want the best chance of better grades on your good coins, don't submit them with junk.

    If you want all your coins to be potentially linked to junk, by all means, submit all the junk and misc coins you can in one submission to save some postage.

    The above has nothing to do with the submission results. The bottom line is that the person does not know how to tell a gradable coin from a bad coin. Newer people should learn more about grading before making the jump into the fray. There has been a huge influx of this type of submission. Hopefully the people will learn from the experience and stay with the hobby instead of getting all riled up and leaving.

    Not sure about the junk bringing down the good stuff as not all coins are graded by all the same people. But I am sure "let me teach this idiot a hard lesson" is a thought that has crossed the minds of some of these graders when they see batches like this. I know, I have been that idiot.
