Havent been on this thread in a few weeks. It's the homestretch. I dont need much.

Yes that's right. Only 9 chromes and 5 relics for my complete master master set.

I'll pay cash, I'l trade in your favor if you can knock out a big chunk of that.

I have plenty of base cards, inserts, about 30 SPs, 6 Relics, 10 or so chromes, a slew of A-Rod cards, and few felt tops tp trade.

I've been meaning to talk about this for weeks now, but my scanner always has a million things on top of it, so I couldn't scan this to show you guys. If you ever see this type of retail pack in your WalMart or Modells, make sure you buy it. I have gotten 2, 3 and up to 5 SPs in a pack on many occaisions. I dont know why, but 50% of the time they are normal, but 50% of the time they are loaded with SPs. Maybe it's a regional area thing, but now I take as many as they have when I see them. Here is the type of pack I am talking about:

Yes, Sports Authority has them too. Modells, Sports Authority, and WalMart are where I have seen them so far, and honestly it's like 50% of the time they are loaded with SPs. If anyone has seen them anywhere else, shout it out.

The same thing happened back in 2001 with these pre packaged packs. Loaded with SP's but no chance at anything else. It looks
like these are late runs and topps just throws what they have left into it...and that means all the good cards are gone.....great
for set builders though!

The Modells I went into today had 9 of them (keyword...had), and I am about to open them. I will report if they are the good 50% or the normal 50%

They also had 4 of the 2006 heritage packs, so I scooped them up too. I am 3 cards short on that set, so ya never know.

OK. I opened all 9 2007 packs, and it was wierd. 3 Packs had 1 SP per pack, 4 packs had no SPs, 1 pack had 5 SPs, and 1 pack had 3 Sps. Here's the 9 pack breakdown.

Is anyone getting an alaming amount of yellow team and name variations in their boxes?? The odds state 1:6....but I am yielding more like 1:1.5 to 1:2. This last box I opened had 15 variations and no SP's....not to mention no relic, auto, etc. Anyways, just wondering if anyone else is seeing these kind of odds.

Topps had made a mistake and just did not include the other three. Only 13 different ones exist so if you have 13 different ones then your set would be complete.

I have not finished one chrome set yet. My 2003 and 2006 is the closest, requiring probably less than 20 each.

Usually blowout will update their stock come Monday. So they may still have some in stock, I would try and call them tomorrow morning.

That is a shame. I just won a complete 2007 base set for $1.80. Don't ask me what I am going to do with it. The same guy sold 94 SP's for less than $100. Not sur what is going on. I think Topps is up to their old tricks again, producing a ton of product. Thant's why the chromes are so hard to get. What were we gettin last year in a box; 3-4? And now we get 1-2 this year. Doesn't that say something?

Sunday night has always been good for me selling vintage (1952 to 1975), and weekdays does better selling modern for me. Tonight was just plain bad for modern (at least heritage).

Absolutely unbelievable. I'm 20 cards short right now from my master set (which includes the Mantles), and I'm very certain I've spent $300 in hobby boxes, blasters, ebay, and S/H through trades here on the board.

It's fun to put the set together on my own, but it seems the economically intelligent choice would be to wait a couple of months and pick it off Ebay.

It's always is better to wait. But most of us don't have the patients to wait. The demand for these did seem to drop quicker than in past years. Oh well, I had a blast putting my sets together.
