The winner of my guess the grades contest is Dan8402 who guessed 7 of the 9 grades correct.


Just recieved my grades for these 9 coins. I will be going thru the thread to determine the winner of the grade guessing contest. Here are the grades before and after.

1. 1942-D Merc dime. Was PCGS OGH MS67FB now PCGS MS66FB.

2. 1913 Buffalo type 1. Was raw now bagged for color

3. 1908 Barber dime. Was ANACS MS61 now PCGS MS63.

4. 1884 Indian cent. Was PCGS OGH PR62RB now PCGS PR64RB.

5. 1873 3CN. Was raw now bagged for pvc.

6. 1864 2-center. Was ANACS AU58 now PCGS MS63BN.

7. 1862 half dime. Was PCGS OGH MS61 now bagged for color.

8. 1853 half dime with arrows. Was ANACS AU58 now PCGS MS62.

9. 1838 half dime. Was NGC AU58 now PCGS AU55.

    I'm late, but will take a crack at it. Some of these are a mystery to me as they aren't in my area, though I have some knowledge having built a 7070 Type set...anyway here goes:

    Merc Dime MS66 FSB (was thinking 67 until I saw the rim ding at 9 O'clock.

    Buffalo Nickle, color looks a bit funky, but will guess a MS64 on this one.

    Barber Dime is either a AU58 or will be BB'ed for surfaces/cleaned

    IHC I put at a shaky MS64

    3 cent Nickle, cleaned and rim ding = BB (sorry 'bout that, hope I'm wrong).

    2 cent piece AU58

    1862 Half Dime MS60

    1853 Half Dime AU55

    1838 Half Dime AU53

    So if we get most of these grades correct, we win these coins?<Grin>

    the colors could result in some BB's weather deserved or not:
    Only had one as a proof.
