    I'm old enought to remember, but can't remember how to spell: FART or is it FORT,(that's the German translation), or PFORT ;
"Bongo drive 1984 Lincoln that looks like old coin dug from ground."

Maybe the seller will send him a new invoice. He is still waiting on a response from the seller. We'll see.

Funny he would cancel my brothers order last night and refund his money and then these two sets show up as 1 day auctions. >>

Did your brother happen to pay with paypal and if he did and forgot to pay for insurance then I can see why his order got cancelled. Do you know if this happened? >>

I just talked to him and he did pay by paypal but did not buy insurance because he said he never buys it. He is confirmed and all that stuff and I know the auction states if paying by paypal then insurance is required but would not buying insurance constitute refunding the money? A simple email note stating he needed to send $2.70 more to cover insurance would have sufficed. >>

Nope thats now how it works with this seller. The same thing happened to me and I went out and got a money order but still was cancelled and then resubmitted its their rules and they are really nice people though.

I wonder what price he would have received if he had started with an auctions for 2 or 3 sets instead of selling the coins BIN in bulk.

    Ok....got it settled now.

I told him what was being said on this site about the insurance and others here had the same problem and they were issued a new invoice..blah blah blah.

He went back and checked his paypal account again and sure enough he was able to resubmit with insurance and everything is fine now or will be fine once the coins arrive.

    Thanks all for the help.

Thanks. He did say that it would seem that as long as he has been on eBay he would learn to read the entire auction beforehand.

I told him that is really rule number 1.

I'm in for three. Thanks Tyler267.

There may be a lot of MS66's down the road, but from the first hand reports on the board about the quality of rolls, there probably aren't that many First Day 66's. It looks like this submitter lucked into some of the best rolls, certainly top 10%. I could be buying the next 1973 Brown Box Ike (a coin that dropped 80% in value), but for now prices similar coins are bringing shows strong demand.

If the seller only had three of these sets instead of a big batch, and listed them no reserve, they would probably have gone for $400 or more at this point in time. >>

Wow, I wish my crystal ball worked that well on the stock market image.

    $400 on the nose!

    auction ended at $400

Before folks start getting too excited, no one knows how many "nice rolls" were distributed and submitted First Day. Seems like about 10% of folks report nice rolls, the average roll seems to yield about one MS64 out of a roll, the rest are lower. Still, the closing price shows strong demand at this time. Better $400 than have the no reserve auction close at $80 and be looking at an immediate 25% haircut.

    Red Tiger,
You realize this is just a presale don't you? This guy doesn't have an 66's yet and doesn't have any grades. He bought coins from another dealer who is preselling them on the belief that he will get 66's. I have coins in but I'm not willing to risk my reputation by preselling 66's...although it is tempting at this price...

You know what is better. I just ordered the same thing (20 sets) yes I got greedy from a very, VERY reputable company at 45.00 per set plus 4.00 shipping. Yes that is right 45.00 per set for a 1st strike PCGS MS66 for 45.00 per set. Now if one or two of you wants to contact me I will let only 3 people know who they are. But you cant share it with the board (in other words make it public). This is for the members that have guided me without any hassel and helped when I needed an answer and not the bull that came with it. I have 15 minutes before I leave so you have that amount of time. get set and PM me.

For those of you wishing you'd bought sets at $105 and those who did and are licking their profit chops, you can bet that by the time anybody actually gets the coins, (if they get them at all), these sets won't be bringing anywhere near the $400 at which that auction closed.

One thing about your buying from the "reputable dealer". If the dealer is big enough that trust is implied, then they can get away with telling you a month from now "oops, not available" whereas a small guy on ebay would be branded a scammer...just a thought.

I don't think what he brought was FDoI but are 66's still good? that is the ? since noone has anygrades yet & no one knows how PCGS will grade them. Another ?

I'm thinking we will have the population of these very soon. No more can get the First Day Issue that are not there already.

So as soon as they are done with these batches, that will be it and we will know the population.

By the end of March if not sooner, we'll know how many FDI there are and the grades.

    M-I-L-L-I-O-N

I guess the next step for the buyers is getting the actual set of coins in their hands. Until then, everyone can speculate and shoot holes in everyone's theories of how they will zoom in price or nosedive into the sea of hell.

From what I have been reading on these boards (and yes there is a wealth of information here) the coin's quality control is a major issue with these at this point. Whether or not the mint corrects this problem is unknown at this time.

Hopefully they will correct it and 66's will be at the bottom of the heap but until that time, I believe, 66's are sitting on top in a PCGS holder and that is my only belief. I did buy a set of these and hope I do receive them in the grade and the designation of FDI as advertised. Like it or not but FDI will be very important to these early 66's.

There is still a sense of apprehension in my mind as to whether or not we will actually see these and get a refund a month from now.

Either way it is a crap shoot. If it works out...great for the ones who took a chance. If it doesn't....oh well it won't be the first time and move on to other things.

Good luck to all those who bought.

I am blown away that so many people from these boards pulled the trigger on these sets for $105...or whatever it was. I am absolutely freakin' floored.

I am waiting until the satin finish coins come out and I will put raw examples in my daughter's album.

Does anyone know this seller, mrmagooandthekangaroo?

He "had" 33 PCGS MS66 Prez Dollars-D for future sale as of this AM.

It now says....."The seller ended this listing early because the item is no longer available for sale."

Yet, it shows 33 still available.

The REAL question is, how did anyone get 35 grades of MS66 on this so so minted coin??????image

One, he will get a crap load of Neg. feedback and two, probably get kicked off ebay after everyone complains of bogus auctions, as in, no delivery of said product.

Someone paid you big bucks (for a brand new $1 coin with an unknown population), from a Seller who not only does not have the coin, but his seller does not, and may not, ever have the coin. Unbelievable......I can only see someone in this chain getting screwed. The only question is...who will still be standing when the music stops.

Everything looks up & up on the front, so you have to give the seller the benefit of the doubt at this time...

He has 15,750 positive feedbacks total and has been a member of eBay since 1998, so he has a lot invested in his word...

Got to wonder about this pre-sale thing, as somebody's gun'a get it in the end...

In this case both sellers pre-sold and left money on the table...

Then if someone dose not deliver, there will be no winners...

I submitted 180 P's for the PCGS FDI and after looking at over 600 P's, I will be lucky if I get a few 65's. I bought some of these PCGS 65 P and D sets. NGC's FDI 65's have been on the market for over a month and they are going for $130.00. I won't neg the seller, unless he doesn't refund the money. I know what I am bidding on. Though you are better off buying from sellers that will offer only a few as opposed to offering a hundred sets as BINs.
