Crackout remorse?!?
Do you ever get the What the f..k did I just do after you cracked out a coin?
I am building a Dansco Barber dime album and every time I crack open a slab especially a PCGS slab I get that queasy feeling like Why do you keep doing this?
Am I the only one?
Is there a cure?
Are you out there?
LOL

What an easy way for them to increase submissions.
You on, HRH?

I am keeping my early date lincolns in the plastic, inside those Intercept Shield storage boxes. In their slot in the Dansco, I just place a Lincoln from my birth year roll with reverse facing up. Not going to crack any more for this set.
I have several OGH and rattlers that I want to crack out, mmmmmmmm. Not sure right now.
I was on a 'buy some Saints gold' kick and was blinded by this 1913-S low mintage coin, even though it was an NTC "slabbed" Saint.
I had to have it and ended up being the single bidder.....not a good sign.
I bought it back in October for $1250 on eBay, one month before becoming a forum member here.
In a word, it was an "impulse" buy, why I didn't send it back for a refund who knows??
Well, I've learned so much from this board since then, I decided to be a man and take the beating I deserve.
On Jan. 24th I decided to send it "cracked out" to the big and scary pro's at PCGS.
To make a long story short, I should have my PCGS graded 1913-S on Monday.
Guess the grade...........or scroll down for my result.

I promise I will spend the money they give me for them wisely.
Please send in batches of twenty at least.
Thanks in advance....

I have several coins (especially larger coins), that I like to store in the coin world plastic holders (amos advantage) (I won a sample assortment with accessories and an ANA convention, and have some additional ones.....the black inserts that they come with are virtually unusable..... and I sometimes need odd sizes for some foreign coins (Great Britain, etc...)
Most of these coins either have some damage, or are too inexpensive to certify, but I like to make note on them.... and store them with my actual slabs...hh
I would greatly appreciate it if you could... especially larger crown size pieces.....
Thanks
<< <i>I enjoy cracking out coins. The only remorse is if I later decide I wanted to sell it. >>
BINGO!!! Most of these coins will have to be reslabbed if you hope to get full value when it comes time to sell them. And it won't be cheap. That's when crackout remorse will really kick in.
Worry is the interest you pay on a debt you may not owe.

<< <i>I have cracked out virtually all of the half dimes that I own that were in slabs, and I have never regretted even one of them. The only one that I have not (yet) cracked out is a rare 1848-O V4 Small O half dime, in PCGS MS-64, with the name 'John Jay Pittman' on the insert that others have nearly convinced me should not be cracked out. Someday I will no doubt crack that one, too. Its value is in the variety, and not so much in the pedigree, and the grade won't change after it is cracked out. >>
Sometimes the provenance is important, sometimes not...... In this case, it might not enhance the value as much as in others, but in this instance it is also important to its history as well.......
