LQQK "PCGS values this coin at." Estate sale. "i'm not a coin dealer." Even though you have 600 auctions for coins running...that really gets me. Oh yea PQ. Generally what I see with PQ coins is poor quality. dAn
I usually find humor when dealing with such. People's terms and uses of them is funny in every walk. I'll still remember years ago coming out of the machine/mechanic trade and going into a different type of maintenance. It had nothing to do with Diesel Technology but I had common sense (so I thought) My interviewer asked me what I knew about HVAC and I said: "I don't know anything about High Voltage Alternating Current except that electricity can shock you". He and the building engineer started laughing. I just sat there looking stupid. Then, the head building engineer says... HVAC is Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning.
Then the General Manager said, "that's the best laugh I've had in a long time, you will be just fine in this position, you're hired". So don't be angry cuz people are not educated. Enjoy their stupidity as long as it lasts
For example there are still a few ignoramuses who in their print copy use terms like MS-40, MS-30, MS-50, instead of EF-40, VF-30 and AU-50.
Another aggravating abuse is copy that reads like this:
“This coin sells for $10,000 in a PCGS holder.” When what they are offering is a so-called MS-66 coin in a Tickle Me Elmo holder.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
probably said but the one that is like finger nails on a chalk board to me is " I just made a BLANK" referring to getting a peticular grade on a coin. Also "Fresh".
This one makes no sense at all. Did they use a hardness gauge to test for Rockwell or Brinell hardness? Why would the hardness be any different from other coins in the series? Was the coin struck from an unannealed planchet?

I would have to say "error". Far too many people use this term for anything odd or different on a coin, and over half the time they are talking about a variety or die variety. These are completely different and should be treated as such. Even specialists and collectors of one often do not collect or know about the other.
Also, "I made a 5" is irritting. You didn't make anything and say 65 as we are not impressed by your abbreviated grade call. I get the impression most of those folks are newbies who learned this and want to differentiate themselves from even newer newbies like they graduated and are not greenhorns any longer. It's like implying they bulk submit bags of rare uncirculated coins regularly and, out of necessary brevity, call out, "4, 4, 7, 5, 6, 5, ...."

That drives me crazy too- there are ways to accurately describe nice quality coins without sounding like idiot salesman....
I also hate the expression, "Grading is subjective."
