FSH Only: I am selling some "Third Strike" American Silver Eagles

numismanumisma Posts: 3,877 ✭✭✭✭

For Sale Here Only!

I am selling some Silver Eagles that have been designated as Third Strike by ACG. According to my sources, these coins were struck after the second strike Eagles, which kinda makes sense. Don't confuse these with the ever elusive Fourth Strike coins, although these are better than the First Strike or Second Strike coins that are flooding the market. Most people don't know it, but the Third Strikes are easily differentiated from the others by the postmark on the packaging they came in. Just don't loose that or you are screwed.

$1,000/coin - only 20,000 available

Hurry........these will go FAST!

little-known fact: These third strike ASEs are actually first-struck with the eighth die pair used by the mint.

anyone know where I can get an album for 2006 ASE's "Strike series" ??

That's a pathetic markup on probably what is the most available "Strike of 2006". Everyone and their brother knows that the 2nd strike is way more rare, due to the Postal holiday which took place during the 2nd strike "mailing window".

No word on my request to PCGS to recognize a new strike-subtype, 2.1, which were the strikes produced on that second Friday at the mint between 9:45 and 3:00 PM (someone left the mint and they had 2 hour goodbye-lunch)
  • Hi, I was wondering what color the insert is on these Third Strikes. Also, are these available with any cool pictures printed on the label? Something like an F/A-18 or an F-117 would be perfect.

Perhaps we can get the mint to NUMBER the dies... say on the EDGE of the coin.... then we could fight over the 'earliest die'... yeah, that's it... that's the ticket.... $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ imageimage Cheers, RickO

When the screaming fishwife reads this you're gonna need a good lawyer. I learned my lesson about running off my mouth about AcruCrap.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
  • Aren't these supposed to be the colorized versions?

  • is there any significant difference in striking quality or would anyone at pcgs be able to tell the difference between a designated first strike coin and a non first strike coin without the postmark on the mint shipping box or some arbitrary submission cutoff date.. if there is no real difference then i would have to call this 3rd party grading fraud because they are accepting extra money for a designation on the holder when the coins are not identifiable as such on their own
    when judgement day comes..
