6 weeks to send a check (which has not been received yet)
2 hours to respond to a negative feedback

What I see above just shows his lack of respect for you as a seller. It is apparent that his own image is much more important than prompt payment. I agree with your decision to leave a negative completely.

Well...I've read every post up to this point. Here's one that I agree with 100%:

"You did everything right. $22 isn't anything to get bent out of shape over, but it is the principle involved here. If someone can't pay $22 in two months, give them the neg and move on. You will always be criticized by friends of the one who did wrong. You gave him plenty of time, you contacted him many times. You don't need to email multiple times, call, send a letter and then hope for payment. If 2 emails aren't enough, nothing will be. you are right. You will get a retaliatory neg, wear it with honor."

How about "Check the auction end date and the date he CLAIMS he sent it two weeks ago!"

"Six weeks to send payment and two hours to retaliate with feedback?"

Keep us posted on when that check was postmarked. I'd just return it when it comes. You don't want to be shipping the buyer anything at this point. Big reputation and all, I can see that check being cancelled just to spite you.

    It's a simple process:
In the auction, specify payment is due 7 days after the closeAfter 7 days, file a Non-Paying bidder with eBayAfter 7 days, Close the dispute and get your final value fees backOptional : Relist the itemOptional : Leave negative feedback

The scary part is that is what Derek2100 would probably writeimage

Having a non-payable check hitting my checking account is not worth the aggravation. $22 may mean nothing, but I value the business with my bank. Like I said, there would be no good reason to continue with someone who puts me on hold for 2 months.

Did Die Varieties know that a box was coming, now that it has been mentioned to him, does he remember the conversation with Ken about the check being in the box? If so, maybe someone jumped the gun here?

My address is not P.O. Box 50428. I haven't had that P.O. Box for some 5 years now.

Ken Potter knows my correct mailing address

Plus, my correct address was included that I sent him on my e-mail notification to him ...

plus, my correct address that I told him on the phone,

plus, my correct address is on the automatic e-mails that ebay sent to him and me when the auction ended July 14th.

In another post, someone said that Ken sent a bunch of coins to be attributed by Billy. This does not prove he sent the check. And he would surely not insure a check for $22.00 for a value of $3000.

Plus, XXX XXX Drive is the address that I sent him on my e-mail notification to him ...

plus, XXX XXX Drive is the address that I told him on the phone,

plus, XXX XXX Drive is the address that is on the automatic e-mails that ebay sent to him and me when the auction ended July 14th."

No. It has EVERYTHING to do with it. Why would Ken trust Billy with 3k in coins & try to stiff him for $22? Ken said the check was in the package the coins were in. I'm sure Billy can go to THAT P.O. & pick it up. So what if he SAYS he doesn't "use" that P.O. Box anymore? If it is not too far to go, once he gets to TAHT P.O. & shows his I.D. they WILL give him the package - period!

We also have no reason to doubt that he was not too busy for the past 6 weeks to write that check earlier.

If that package was delivered on the 9th it was probably already sent back to sender as undeliverable - no such address.

It's not about whether KP was going to stiff anyone for $22 but how long it was gonna take him to get unbusy. Maybe he figured that $3000 worth of attributions was a trade-off of sorts.
