I can't get in to purchase one, so I guess they will.

The price seems kind of high for three silver eagles. The premium is somewhere around $20.

I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Cool, another thread about 20th anniversary silver sets. image

[Edit to add: I think they'll sell out. 250,000 sets is a little high -- but I think there will be very high demand for the reverse proof, AND relatively high mintages has hardly stopped the 1999 silver proof set.]

I predict both sell out within a week. I also predict I could be wrong.... either selling out sooner, selling out later, or not selling out at all.

I think sooner is the most likely option.

I think later is the less likely option.

I think not at all is the very unlikely option.

What a joy it is to see the foum alive with a new topic! Even if some consider it just annoying modern crap.

I got my sets. My guess is first 24 hours to sell-out.

I think it will be a month or two. With 250,000, 25,000 people would have to order a limit of 10. Is there really that much demand?

OT-What about the Legacy Sets, they still have not sold out. It has been awhile since they went on sale.

I encountered no difficulty in ordering... went directly in, placed orders, got immediate receipt. Cheers, RickO
  • I encountered lots of difficulties, and it took just under 30 minutes to order.

I just placed a third order at 1325 eastern time and order numbers have progressed almost 9000 since my order this morning. But that's for all 3 plus the nevada quarters were released today plus anybody who decided this morning was a good time to log on and buy normal stuff like proof sets--gotta feel sorry for them.

  • I sold off all my ASE proofs earlier this year in order to buy a 1880 and 1881-CC GSA Morgan. I was looking for only one definitive ASE set to have. Looks like I have one now. My order for 1 just went through.

Other than packaging, what is unique with the Legacy Sets, to the slab generation? Nothing.

The SAE 20th Ann and the GAE 20th Ann coin sets all have "unique" coins that, if the registries get updated to give them points/require them, will make them worth a lot more. imho of course.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
