    Sad but true, it is David Hall's little cabbage patch. It is his server or servers, his message board and he can do whatever he pleases. If that means pulling threads critical of his friends he can do it. If it means throwing people off the board, he can do it. You can be disappeared in an instant.

    Censorship? Of course not. Tyranical police state? Yes it is. It is the way the law reads, and we can either play by the rules or go elsewhere.

    Just my opinion of course. I burns my butt and it always has, and to think we pay for the joy of participating.

    No, I am not kidding. Dissent and disagreement are vital components of free communication. If CU banned anyone for 'potentially slanderous accusation[s]' then you, Russ, would probably go to the head of the class. I agree with most folks who posted on the original thread that the guy was acting like a bozo. I imagine he had an agenda that had nothing to do with the stated purpose of the OP. These threads are full of anonymous posts. In fact, full disclosure of identity is the exception and again, that includes you Russ. What threatens the operator[s] of these forums so much that they feel they must remove discussions that criticize, embarass or offend major figures in the business? Sorry for my spelling I've been up about 30 hours.

    Edited to add: Russ, who are you to define who is nobody? You have the rule book on somebody, anybody, nobody? We are all nobody online, or do you think because someone has psoted 5,000 or 25,000 or 45,000 posts they rise to a position where their opinion has more value than a new forum poster?

    Russ, if the CU forum user agreement does not protect CU from such legal action maybe they should be sued. Any attorney who is half awake could prepare that language.

    If, in fact, CU allowed free communication that would be the best defense against such false claims. Now that CU attempts to moderate, they are assuming a certain amount of responsibility for policing the behavior of forum participants.

    I remember when Laura from Legend was talking smack about PCGS and they pulled her dealer submission status out from underneath her. I think they gave it back to her a couple of months later after she kissed up to DH.

    I think they did the responsible thing for th poster's sake and to avoid getting enjoined in a libel suit. If the poster had a case, the post served that case nothing but problems. This forum is not the appropriate forum for resolving such matters and discrediting a firm with whom most of us do significant business and have respect for their business practices. Let him try to resolve it legally in court and be thankful that CU may have slipped the noose off of his neck.
