The US Mint will announce the start of a new lottery type system for a specific limited edition special type of coin. For instance, perhaps every 1000th regular proof set will be a special sandbasted satin finish on the coin version.... or perhaps a silver Sac proof dollar..... or you name the goodie. No one will know, even the Mint, on which order the items will be shipped out. They will be identicle looking on the outside, and will be evenly mixed in with the regular sets. Watch the skyrocketing demand the Mint will face in orders... while everyone tries to obtain one of the rare items. Hugh demand and hugh profits. Of course the Mint will have to abandon it's policy of allowing returns.....
Also companys will start selling silver scrap coins again.....mostly bagged for scrap + 15%......you hardly ever see it now, use to see it all the time years ago!

83%....I think 10 right out of 12 wasn't bad for my 2006 predictions. In particular, the MS65 saint call to $1700 was prophetic as they peak at $1775 or so.

X Gem type coins will awaken and move up 20-30% this year (bust, barber, seated). The sheets will reflect this.
C!! Generic gold will continue to gain. MS65 Saints will reach $1700+ .
C $1, $2-1/2, and $5 Liberty gold in MS64-65 will close the gap on $10/$20's.
C The housing market, on average across the country will cease to rise. The northeast will see a continuing correction.
C Money supply will continue to increase at 10% or greater for the year.

There will be terriorist coins in the works as well.

An ink that will be all but impossible to duplicate will be made and the government will use it for a new set of bills.
The biggest suprise will be that not only will they open another Mint but they will plan to open one oversea too!

none of my predictions will come true.........
Not announced but something just passed allowing them to sell Lewis and Clark nickles past 2005 and they stopped selling these sets prior to passage.
