  I would have to see both coins, but I would lean more towards the proof 64 that hasnt been messed with.

  
  
  My daughter was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of 2 (2003). My son was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 17 on December 31, 2009.   Chips are for Dipping, NOT 1856 Flying eagles. I also feel who ever dipped it ought to have their A$$ kicked!

  I love AU Flying Eagle cents. I will never buy an uncirculated one. They don't do anything for me.
  
  I just love the near uncirculated ones, especially the 1856 issue.

  proof copper nickel cents if done correctly lend well to dipping IF it is the right coin with the right look and again done correctly

  Most likely I'd prefer the original coin...but I wouldn't make the final decision until I saw the coins. Some dipped coins are considerably better and less "stripped" than others, and some "original" coins can have unattractive toning.
