Heritage's San Francisco ANA Signature Auctions Exceed $19 Million
DALLAS, TEXAS: Heritage Numismatic Auctions, Inc., (HNAI) held its most recent Platinum Night and Signature Auctions August 27-30 as the Official Auctioneer of the American Numismatic Association's 2005 San Francisco World's Fair of Money? convention. Prices Realized are currently at $19,213,551 and rising, with hundreds of thousands of dollars in after-auction sales. A total of 2,758 bidders competed for 3,514 lots, 798 of them successfully.
"It's been a thrilling year for numismatics," said Greg Rohan, President of HNAI, "and judging by the results of this auction, it's far from over. Coin collecting has never been hotter, and numismatists continue to search for the best of the best, both in terms of condition and rarity. We're proud to be able to help them achieve their collecting goals."
"Our Platinum Night auction was a great success," Rohan continued. "This is a venue in which we present only the very finest numismatic offerings, and it has proven very popular with our bidders, as it once again satisfies that urge to acquire the cream of the crop. We typically see very frenzied bidding during Platinum Night events, and this one was no exception. Now it's on to Long Beach in September, as 2005 just keeps getting better and better."
