Hi Guys, I wasn't born yesterday and I have been around enough to smell a cheat, but what I will never understand is HOW these type of people can sleep at night knowing that they ripped some one off. It really burns my buns to think that this guy just doesn't give a HOOT( Hoot was not my first choice) --And then to blatantly steal the coins under the guise of a transaction and them REFUSE to return the coins. I will never understand people who do this-NEVER NEVER NEVER--I hope you get your coins back or your money & I wish this person could be prosecuted--thanks for listening- I feel your pain--Don/Mademan

In addition to collections, you should contact his local law enforcement as well as the postal inspector with jurisdiction in his area. Call his local post office, and they'll refer you. It might not make anything happen, but if there's a pattern here there will be a paper trail on him -- and if you're really lucky, yours will be the case that tips the balance and gets them moving. You never know. If his town is small enough, he'll at least get a phonecall.

You wouldn't have "smelled" this one. Brian did a lot of successful transactions with a lot of different board members.

Mike,

Had a similar situation with a guy in Virginia. Called the postal inspector and filled all the forms. They got him. His third fedral offense and he was facing the three strikes law. He pleaded and they gave him FIVE years. Follow up with the postal inspectors as they do a good job. If that does not work i know this guy named Tony three toes who will....Never mind!

It's always wise to be cautious with anything emanating from Texas or Florida.

Legal procedures in those states lead to a disproportionate amount of scams from there.

I noticed the same thing last November, particularly on the Open Forum. Not sure about the glass pipe though.

In any case, it's too bad because he sent me a very nice PM and was banned before I could get a chance to reply.

It's strange and sad how people can suddenly fall off the deep end. My brother told me of an e-bay seller with a 100% feedback he dealt with who suddenly "lost it" and suddently stopped shipping. His wife had to send e-mails to all the buyers and explain that his mental illness made him extremely paranoid to the point where he needed to be put in the hospital.

If any of you were taken by this guy, please contact me and we'll file a mail fraud complaint. I have talked with the Postal Inspectors and they said we (those who have contacted me so far) have a valid complaint.

After reading this and thinking about what has happened to Mike I really believe I should have outed this guy on the forums about 2 years ago. At that time he was a frequent poster and very popular so some slack was given and after 60 days or so he actually paid for the coins he received. A lesson can be learned from what has happened. Popularity does not mean chit. Integrity does.

Heres a little tidbit that i learned from a seminar !

Email the bolthole and tell him this (perfectly legal by the way )

" As you have an open balance owed to me,i find it neccessary to send you a 1099 form ,as well as report it to the IRS as income on your part,you have 90 days to settle this debt or i will act on this matter.
Please bear in mind,that if you make a partial payment and default on the balance,i have 3 years to file the 1099. "

I have just been corresponding with him via email a few times back and forth.

He said for the few of you that he does owe, that you should check your email for messages, he overstretched things and that everyone will be paid in full.

I am going to tell him that this matter will mean that I have to update his file.

I wanted to add that I am not condoning what he has done or sticking up for him............merely relaying the result of our emails and that I hope it all works out for all of you.

I bought from him a few months ago and, it DID take an awfully long time and MANY rather pointed e-mails to finally resolve the situation. Rogue ain't the word...
