Received New Morgan ... Should I Keep It Or Return It???

This is the Morgan that I received from Ebayer greatsoutherncoins. It was described as 64 +++. I think that it is more like 62 or 63. i paid $710.00. What do you guys think ... keep it or return it???

IMHO there is no way that the Morgan pictured is a 64. More like a low end slider. I'd get my money back.

From the pictures provided, that looks like an ugly coin, and no where near a 64........ If I was going to get a nice 1893, I would probably go for something in a holder with a nice, original look.....

You should definitley know that it wouldnt be a 64 if you picked it up from them at 710.00 raw. If MS, then 62 at best IMO. Your photo's are so heavily lit and off color, that I can tell if this coin exhibits light circulation marks which it very well maybe and grade High end AU.

Also, I never trust it when a seller says that a coins is a certain grade + + +..... It's either a certain grade, or it's not. When I see the plus signs, I think that someone's about to get stiffed™.......

Looks like a slider to me, I'd send it back. Stick with certified Morgans on these better dates.

Maybe he grades on a 1-100 scale. It isn't even close to a 64 on the sheldon scale.

piece-o-junk.

You're better off looking for your coins in person, or at least buying certified stuff from reputable dealers.. The odds of getting something really truly nice on ebay are not very good under the best of circumstances, and when you get into the realm of better dates, not in slabs -- the odds fade to teeny-tiny.

You may not get what you pay for, but you will (almost) always pay for what you get. Until you give up trying to get something for nothing, most of the buys you make will be junk like this. Granted it takes a screwer and a screwee to make a bad deal, but there's no easier mark for these jerks than somebody looking for a "bargain."

Hello,

Looks like there might be a "9" in the denticles or maybe it is the bottom loop of the "8", it is directly below the "9" and to the left one denticle. I also agree with most here, you got hosed, the coin would not grade MS64...unless it was sent to...um, some unknown company in FL.

Those scratches in the fields are particularly worrisome as well. Although very difficult to tell exactly how it grades from the picture, based on what I can see you'd probably be fortunate to get $200-$250 from someone who knows what they're looking at.

Like someone else said, quit looking for the "deals" and pay up for a nice coin in the first place. Your wallet will thank you in the long run.
