BTW, this is the third one of these polls. In the first two, the majority said bodybag. PCGS graded them both.

Gorgeous coin! Amazing reds and blues, purples and even sea green and aquamarine.. rare colors for that date
I predict that they'll grade it, but make it a MS64 to keep anyone from cracking it out and risking it not slabbing again..
but it'll slab.

With that said, it doesn't have a chance. I don't think I've ever gotten one of Russ's "will this grade" games correct.

Russ, don't collect Washington quarters, but I've never seen an Unc. 19th Century silver coin that had the reverse color of your coin which wasn't IMO artificially toned. I run as fast as I can from purple toning on Unc. type silver.

That's not to say that none of these coin make it into 1st tier holders. The problem is that too many of them do.

Even having heard that the coin was body-bagged previously, IF the images are accurate (a big if considering the poster) I vote for original.

WHEW!! Thanks, coinguy1--I was starting to get really nervous about my prediction that it would grade 66 at PCGS. I am supposed to have a reasonably good eye for these sorts of things, but I sure feel much better after your input. TomT.

The fact that it comes from a year when they didn't make mint sets, and that it doesn't look like any album toning or envelope toning that I've ever seen, leads me to believe that if the colors are in fact as vibrant as they are, which I don't have any doubt they are, then they will deem this coin questionable enough to bodybag it.

You just got lucky, goomba. They stiffed me - MS64. It's technically much better than that but I think since they didn't bodybag it this time, they decided to play CYA with a lower grade.

Yeah, but I'm fine with it the way it is. I'm just happy they graded it this time. Matter of fact, the submission it's on came in pretty close to what I expected, but with a couple upside surprises.
