Activities that pull you away from coins
Help, I've gotten back into golf. Now I am spending my money on golf clubs and greens fees. Golf is taking away my coin money

And #2 is quite a bit costlier than #1 I might add.

A friend of mine who is a boater says that the best moment of a boater's life is when he buys his first boat. He said the second best moment is when he sells that boat.
Apropos of the coin posse/aka caca: "The longer he spoke of his honor, the tighter I held to my purse."
This time of year, bicycling and gardening (just planted my tomatoes, peppers, zucchini, lettice and green beans today. Already growing are spinach and peas. Then there are the apple and pear trees, the blueberries and the strawberries.) In the winter, skiing and ham radio. Then there's work, in between everything else.
Hopefully this year I can turn the odometer to read 24,000 original miles.
Then naturally there just has to be a few thousand rounds of ammo to blast off to make up for the time layed up.
Also yard work too

The funny thing is, I've never heard a dedicated boater say that, except in jest. The more you get into it, learn about it and become proficient both at handling and working on your own boat, the less you can imagine being without one. The guys I see bailing (pun not intended) out usually buy brand new boats, have little experience and even less skill, and recoil at the thought of working on their own boat. You can spot them a mile away. We call them Wannabes.

Just got a rebreather...that at least doubles the time and money, but 3 hour dives breathing warm air and making no bubbles (marine life loves that) keep me coming back to the beast.

Aint that the truth. been a boater since 60's would not live without one now w/ kids and summers hitting 100`f. So its boating and the 2nd house below for me.
Carl, that is one sweet ride! I love classic cruisers. Make and model? Don't shoot me if I'm wrong, but it looks a bit Fordly. Am I right?

This is a GREAT topic! Congrats for coming up with it.
Really, there is only one activity that keeps me from coins, in my free time. That is anything to do with my family and our activities together. Apart from those, I'm all about the coins.
