Is there ever a reason to check on a submission status?

lavalava Posts: 3,287 ✭✭✭
It seems to me that the answer is no -- i.e., there is no reason to check on submission status.

When PCGS receives the coins, they email.

When PCGS grades the coins, they email.

When PCGS sends the coins, they email.

Checking the submission status either tells me what I already know from having read the PCGS email, or it simply tells me that the coins are being processed, which is like telling me I'm still breathing.
I brake for ear bars.

"When PCGS grades the coins, they email."

I've had e-mails take over a day to get to me after the grades have been poosted.

You mean you've never had the coins arrive back BEFORE you got the "your PCGS grades are available" e-mail? That happens you know.
    When in doubt, don't.

The title of this thread is a silly question.

A better question would be how to stop. I have a 15-day submission on day 12 and I'm all twitchy, I bet I've checked it a dozen times already today. Marty, I hope you buy your bandwidth in bulk.

Not to worry. If aggressive refreshing crashes him, I have a backup on my server.

What would be nice is if they did it like NGC and showed what stage the coins are at.

I have never checked. I am positive I'd be like Sean. If I get my email and check I'll not stop checking. I'd even check after they arrived back to me. So, not me.

    Shhh ...

plus, Russ and I live for checking the status early and often, very oftenimage
We don't time to check for e-mails from PCGS, we are too busy checking the status of our orders.
