Kind of cool. I'm doing the same thing but with a set from 1861, including gold. He clearly made a mistake calling it a proof set, but it could be a date set of mintstate coins from 1934.
I don't think the listing was necessarily fraudulent. I wrote to the seller, who thanked me, sounded sincere and said he would notify bidders of the mistake.
He does say in answer to questions askd that he did not intend to state that it was a proof set and that he wanted to change the description but a bid had already been placed so he couldn't. I told him that even though he can't change the description he can still add to it and make the correction that way. Now we get to see what he does.
IMHO, this seller is either very smart, or very stupid

Hi, I assume you mean in the storage of coins? Plastic was introduced long ago - the first man-made plastic was created by Alexander Parkes who publicly demonstrated it at the 1862 Great International Exhibition in London. "Modern" high grade acrylics were introduced in the 1930's.
It is new, and the seller I belive has the option as to whether or not they appear. They were not there earlier today and are now so he must have added them. Since he has added them and they clearly state his reasons i will retract the statment I made earlier that it was an intended scam.

Those aren't easy to crack and reseal. I wonder if the set is going to just fall apart during mailing.
I like how he says they are proof, but then states the coins are MS60-65. Interesting.

Sure, I can see how someone could do that. Plastic wasn't even used in 1934, but hey not everyone can be a rocket scientist.

Is this something new on eBay that the Q & A's are displayed on the auction page?
