Book signing in Pittsburg!!

I just got off the phone with the ANA librarian, Nancy Green. She scheduled me to do a book signing of my book, "Looking Through Lincoln Cents," at the ANA convention on Thursday at 3:00PM. Furthermore, they will be carrying copies of the book at the ANA Money Store near the entrance to the convention. All I can say is WOW!!

Now....how many copies should I take?

All of them ;-)... Seriously, though... better to be optimistic on the number to take. Better to have them and not need them than to need them and not have them.

I think that's great. Varieties do not get the recognition they should. image

Well, I have a couple of options...

    1. Carry as many as I can in the trunk of the car - about 200-250.

    2. Get a trailer from Uhaul and carry all I have - around 1,000.

    3. Mail cases of them to the hotel and have them hold them for me - and carry all I can. Probably 300-400.

Help me out....I'm new at this stuff. image

200 will be plenty. An hour book signing isn't that long and I've seen other book signings at ANA shows where only 5-10 people actually buy the book and have you sign it. There will be people there that want to talk but alot of them don't buy the book.

That's kind of what I figured regarding the book signing. It's the exposure more than anything.

Regarding the number of books, remember that I will be spending the entire weekend peddling them to dealers, etc. I think I'll try to squeeze 300 into the car and be done with it. If I run out, I can mail them.

I know how you feel. Last year they invited me to do a book signing at the authors table as well. Unfortunately it wasn't possible for me to attend.

Kudos ! It is great that your book will be getting that kind of exposure.I know everyone I've shown it to was impressed.BTW,Mike Dixon claims to have the book # 1 signed by you.Can you confirm this ? I have asked to see it to no avail.

There are six proof copies, three of which still remain in my possession. They are bound differently from those that went out for sale.

One to the man who helped me make the book happen (read P. 4), one to my mother, one to my father. I have the rest.
