I really like the OR commem. Great design. very satiny luster on it. I never realized that there are little tiny wagons along the trail.image

    Oregon is the BEST commem design. I also really like the Spanish Trail (longhorn).

    No real plans for set building. Like colonials, I'll probably just dabble. They're higher relief than I thought they would be.

    That is a beauty. If I remember correctly the mintage was pretty low in 1938.

    mgoodm3, now that you have one classic commemorative, which classic commemorative do you think you'll be looking at buying next? I know you say you'll just dabble, but dabbling really seems to imply acquiring more than one... image

    I like columbian halves. That would be the next one I would get. Maybe Pan-Pac half.

    That's a very pretty coin you have! An Oregon Trail Half is the coin that got me started collecting classic commemoratives. Be careful - you can't stop with just one - they are addicting!!
