So, how many people saw ACG slabs at FUN? Other topics enclosed in the thread.
I meant to ask this earlier this week. I was at the show all day on Sunday. By then, of course many dealers left the show to go back home and I know thousdands of coins had been bought.
But, during the time I was there, which was all day, I saw one lonely ACG slab. It was a Barber quarter dated 1903 (don't recall the mint mark). It was graded AU53. The seller wanted $105.00 or $150.00 for it. The coin was clearly cleaned and overgraded.
On a happy note, I bought a fantastic set of Roosevelt Dimes from 1946 to 1964 with only two coins missing, and they were not the 1949 or 1950 series, but don't recall which ones at the moment. Each coin in the set was nicely toned. Four coin inparticular stuck out at me. They are the most gorgeous coins I have seen in a long time. Most of these coins were from mint sets, but some just had the album toning. I picked out the four that had the great toning and put them in saflips. I would like to send them to get graded after I get good pictures of them. Need a camera first. I don't know how they will graded, but I am sure they are average MS65 coins. But, I would just like to have them slabbed for presentation purpases. I do not plan on selling them any time soon. Maybe in the next 20 years or so.
Cheers, Richard.

A dealer who I know used to deal only in PCGS and NGC slabs and now has converted to NTC and PCI.

Good for ANACS. They do good work.

Someone needs to take those Buffalo Nickels and yank them out of their coffins.
And yes NYC is the new scamers grading company (I hesitate to use the word "service") of choice, followed by the various varriations of PCI holders when that brand was going through its many chanages of owership.
