Is NTC a respectable grading service?

After being a fly on the wall reading threads on here, I've been very weary of buying any slabs that aren't PCGS. I know PCI and ACG are bad, but what about NTC? Since we're on the subject how about ANACS?

A lot of people like ANACS and think that they are a respectable grading service. I'm one of them.
Keep in mind that even PCGS and NGC make mistakes sometimes. If you know how to grade, how to spot originality, and how to spot artificial toning, then it won't really matter what holder the coin is in. However, since it's often hard to do that from pictures, I'd be just as cautious about purchasing a coin in an NTC, PCI, or ACG slab online as I would purchasing a raw coin.

You can buy a coin in an NTC slab if you like the coin; just be aware that
the grade on the slab is worthless! Buy the coin, not the slab.
-Like a blind date and the first thing you notice is the red fingernail polish she uses is chipped and her thong is showing when he leans over to pick up the sparkly lipstick she just dropped.
Fun to play with but tough to take seriously.

That's true ONLY if you collect moderns. For other coins, NGC and ANACS should also be on your list of possibilities.

Hey Bill...... I was just being sarcastic.... Perhaps you don't remember "Fanofmoderns", who alot of folks thought he was HRH in drag! Because he was always promoting nothing but PCGS graded coins!
