    Top ones nice image
Your scan is bad for grading and that what "we" are judging by.

Yours seems to be slightly more scuffed up, particularly in the fields.

Yours seems very nice, but what catches my eye is the fact that yours looks like it has a very heavy, thick "skin", which makes it more desirable.

Jim, I'm sorry. The graded GSA coin IMO has more eye appeal than yours. While it has the minor
chatter on Miss Liberty's cheek you frequently see on CC Morgans in 5, its luster is superior. Your coin appears dull in comparison. However, it could be the lighting. Please let us know the results of this.

As I mentioned earlier, there are very few bargains to be had in numismatics, unless you are an error collector and you rip a coin from someone who doesn't know much about varieties.

    Jim,

I suggest reducing the size of your coin so that the two coins appear about the same size on this thread - it will be easier to compare the 2 then. image

What they said. The coin is not a 5. I'd mark it down because of that mark next to the ear, and dull luster.

My lastest round of CC Morgans were graded very harshly by PCGS. I think the 'cc bump' is history. Wouldn't be surprised if they read these boards.

As always, it's tough to grade from a pic.

The certified piece has superior luster, but boy, that scuff below the eye and running down past the mouth surely looks severe. I'd have not been surprised to see this piece come back as a 64 from NGC.

As for your piece AJ, I agree that the coin has a somewhat 'milky' appearance and thus its eye appeal is not as strong as it could be. But markwise, I'd say the coin is a solid MS65 and would be surprised if they graded it MS64.

    JMHO.

it's a rare sighting of the male GSAguy. Oft talked about, seldon seen. Brought out of hiding by a tasty GSA thread.

I responded on the other thread and I like your coin and the chances of either 66 or 65. One thing that many of us forget is the size of the image we are looking at. For a CC dollar, I think it is remarkably clean. If you submit it, perhaps NGC is worthy of consideration so it stays in the GSA holder. Good luck and post the results

    Jim.

I am sorry but, I see Ms-65 on the GSA slab coin, I still see yours a 4 IMO.
