I just picked this up in the Superior sale. Kinda hard to find this proof Morgan. The counterstamp is very interesting to me and should create some interesting conversations.
I know alot of you guys will either think it is cool or really hate it.
What grading companies grade chopmarked Trades? maybe they will grade this one??????

I think it's cool, but if I ever got a proof Morgan that couldn't be the only one.

Why would you slab a piece like that? It certainly wouldn't move it up on the coolness meter.

As for slabbing it, I can probably name a bunch of companies that would take your money and slab (errr...grade) it for you.....oh, you probably want REPUTABLE companies?

(Not $1,600 cool, mind you, but to each his own.) Looks more like engraving than a counterstamp to me, and it seems to be that wonderful 19th century engraving that's practically a lost art now. I used to have some exquisitely engraved love token Seated dimes on my Holey Coin Vest, and your Morgan certainly looks like it would fit in the love token category to me. And while I certainly would not have paid four figures for something like that myself, I am not surprised to hear you had competition- it's a really neat piece. Plus, stuff like that is one of a kind.
