what is your oldest coin?

Mine isn't that old but I still like that year. I have several from 1853. I would love to get one of every coin type minted that year. BIG challenge but doable.

Foreign - A Roman denarius of emperor Geta, 198 AD

Colonial - Oak Tree two pence, dated 1662 but probably stuck circa 1670. I also have a small planchet Pine Tree shilling dated 1652, but actually minted circa 1680.

From the US: a 1793 chain cent
Oldest altogether: something from Greece around the 2nd century B.C.

Those ancient coins really have held up well considering I have some Washington quarters from the 30s and 40s that have less detail that some of the stuff from 1800 to 2100 years ago!

US---1798 Large Cent, which I found in a lot of Mexican and World coins about a month ago--it was just a round slug until I looked more closely, talk about a real thrill--I put it in some hot water and a century of dirt soaked off and there it was--maybe an AG3+ (worth about $40) but I was happy--nice original surfaces--reasonably clear date, with a good reverse--althougth for a minute or two I thought it was a 1799--no such luck. World--Greek Archaic Period silver 1/2 drachm from Parium c 500BC--Gorgon head on the obverse with an anchor on the reverse--smaller than a dime and thicker than a nickel.
