Same thing happened to me. I sold a couple of pricey coins, and next thing you know I was a power seller. The, they took it away a few months later.

I was taken away mine 2 months ago. Now I got the e-mail today requesting me back and I stupidly did it. I shouldn't have signed up after being dropped last time.

Given the quality of the merchandise and the level of honesty I have seen from some "power sellers," I'd be proud to be excluded from their company. image

What exactly do you get for being a powerseller? Just the icon? I have a friend who runs a pawn shop and they started selling on eBay. All he can talk about is becoming a powerseller. But I have no idea why, other than he seems to think that people will bid higher if it's a powerseller's auction. I don't see why that would be the case. I check feedback before I bid, but I've seen powerseller's with lots of negs and would never buy from them.

Do they "invite" you to pay extra for the little "power seller" icon?

Aren't power sellers responsible for most of the major social problems in our country? I even heard somewhere they get together and run through playgrounds stealing candy from small children. They are an evil lot!!!!!!

Gee, if I'd only known, I never would have accepted the invitation I received yesterday to become a power seller. imageimage

    Tassa,

I'm just a gold member but heard once you get to be a platinum member you get to attend secret meetings where you learn the 26 secret tricks to ripping off ebay buyers. You do have to sign a contract in blood and agree that your soul goes to Meg after you die.

And exactly what good would it do to become a power seller? Maybe I'm missing something here, but isn't that just a status? If you've got the goods and do the selling, isn't that what counts?

It is just a status and didn't help my sales in the least bit when I had it before.
