    Hey! Ken!! @Copperindian

This bothered me yesterday because as I was trying to attribute your coin, and it didn't make sense.

But my Brother and Sister in Law were on their way and I put it down to I was having a brain-f*** and I'd come back to it later.

That is NOT the reverse of your wonderful looking 1826 CBH in the P63cac OGH.

I don't know if you mixed it up, or if the seller to you did, or maybe this is a trick Halloween trick? ... but that reverse isn't from an 1826.

    @lermish Yeah, I found the 2020 sale, so I knew. Yesterday I just knew it wasn't a '26 reverse.

For various reasons I wanted to make sure Ken knew, but didn't feel like it was mine to post.

@pursuitofliberty: OK Todd, how about this one?

I mixed it up with another OGH rev in my inventory too! :s

Can you tell what the date is on the one I posted erroneously? (my bet would be yes).

    Anyway, nice catch B)

Ken, the original coin, as you may already know, is a 26-110 ... which was what I started to what to share with you on Saturday.

The mistaken reverse image was a little more difficult to identify, but I am certain it is a 1817 O-112a ... and showing with quite a bit more clashing and of a later state than any of the images I have referenced for that DM/DS. And frankly, it took me a little bit of sleuthing to find that reverse crack. :p

For those interested ... the first tell on the image mismatch? 1826's do not have the type of logotype for "50 C." on the reverse as the original images had shown, so once I realized that was what looked off, I knew there was something wrong.

Hi Todd - I just knew you would know! Awesome analysis! :o

Here’s the other side of my erroneous reverse from the original post (the other side of the coin) :D:

For those who may have missed it, I posted the correct reverse in an earlier post above.

Ken (with apologies for my error, but Todd to the rescue) ;)

Love the toning on this one

I don't have a coin to share but this is one of my favorite threads; so here is a coffee factoid. It takes 10 to 12 years for a human being to develop the digestive system necessary to drink coffee. I know this because 3 time in my life, doctors shut down my entire digestive system and nuked all the enzymes that previously existed.
I have been a devoted Tea drinker since the mid 1990's; but I admire everyone who can still drink coffee. I won't even get started on booze........James

Thank you so much Daryl! You're awesome.

Then Brian @Meltdown bought a couple of small cents I had in the for sale box, and we all talked coins (and fishing) for a while before a couple of the Nuts that were at the show found me. In all there were five of us there, but I never got a chance to say Hi to Gawain @carabonnair . I saw him across the room, briefly, but that was it.
    ...

Yep, I talked to a couple other "nuts" - sorry I missed chatting with you. A productive show for me, but it took a day and a half to even visit all the tables! Forgot to get a photo of coffee at the hotel restaurant where you could meet most of the PNNA dealers at breakfast.

@EastonCollection Lovely new Gold! Very wholesome look!! <3

    .
@lkenefic I love the look of the '34 Half Cent ... but I must say I disagree ... it was Flight Control that had the best coffee, at least on the Kitty, and I was forever grateful they let this Avionics guy up there to fill his cup.

    .
    @carabonnair mmmm, another 1795 ... who'd have thunk it?! ;)

And FWIW, the $1. over thing isn't the only reason you're annoying.

    :o

    KIDDING!!!!

    :p

As I sip my third coffee brew of the morning my mind went to my newest series, "Medals of the World."

The first purchase of mine was this one:

United States Louisiana Purchase/St. Louis Expo bronze Award Medal.

UNITED STATES. Louisiana Purchase/St. Louis International Exposition bronze award Medal. Issued 1904. Presented at the expo for the "silver" award (66mm x 66mm, 179.57 g, 12h). Square shape. By Adolph Alexander Weinman at the Philadelphia mint.

VNIVERSAL EXPOSITION SAINT LOVIS VNITED STATES OF AMERICA, Columbia standing slightly right, wearing Phrygian cap and outstretching American flag over Native American maiden standing to right, removing flag with intricate bee design (representing industriousness); rising sun in background; all within central medallion; lis in each outer corner // Eagle, with head left and wings spread, standing facing on oak and laurel branches; below, rectangular cartouche decorated with scallop shell and inscribed • SILVER • MEDAL • / • LOVISIANA • PVRCHASE • / • EXPOSITION • in three lines; two inward-facing dolphins below; all within central medallion; outer decorations as obverse. Edge: Plain.

Hendershott 30-50. Mint State. Alluring brown-bronze surfaces.

Designed by famed German-born U.S. coinage engraver Adolph Alexander Weinman, this series of award medals displays the elegant artistry that would make appearances the following decade on the 'Mercury' dime and the 'Walking Liberty' half dollar. Issued in various shapes, the entire series (bronze, silver, gold, commemorative, and grand) were nominally named, as all of the award medals were struck in a new bronze alloy (initially referred to as 'government bronze'), and meant to convey the level of recognition for the recipient. The expo itself was held in St. Louis, Missouri, and had, as its backdrop, the centennial of the Louisiana Purchase to commemorate—a factor which prominently influenced many design aspects of the award medals.

You were on a much bigger boat! I was on the Julius A Furer (FFG-6) for my lone cruise as a Midshipman...
