Here’s the I smell a rat story
I owned this coin for five years as a MS66 CAC
Sent it to PCGS twice, most recently six months ago, for reconsideration for specimen or upgrade
Then I got a good offer and sold it
Now almost immediately it’s a SP66 CAC
I smell a rat- and it leaves a bad taste in my mouth regarding our host and “insider influence.” I know I cannot call into the grading room and influence a decision but obviously there are people who can. You know who you are….
I think I have a legitimate gripe that probably cost me a lot of money but I’m not a troublemaker- but I certainly won’t EVER forget…
Had a dealer I had never met send me a picture of one of my coins in the grading room before. Had to pick my jaw up off the floor.

I think that a grade/designation change in such a short time period on such an easily recognizable coin, is at best, inexcusable.

Are you saying that no reason for the meaningless designation was given, or anything about why the coin you formerly owned suddenly became a different critter? (Reminds me of "1921 proof $20s" that were struck from clashed dies and don't match other sandblast proofs.)

I wasn’t privy to any of it
Seems fishy or at the very least demonstrates how inconsistent the TPGs can be
Over the past few months I’ve examined several 1795s from these dies. The owners claim, or have labels that claim, the coins are “Specimens” or “SP-xx”.
On knowledgeable examination, with and without magnification, all of the coins fit within the normal range of detail and sharpness that is to be expected for large coins struck in a manually operated screw press. Some better than yours, more appeared inferior. None – None – possessed outstanding characteristics, any sort of documentation, or provenance to suggest the coin was struck for a special purpose, use, or personal favor.
Others can apply their personal terminology. However, you deserve some sort of honest apology or means of redress.
The 1971 is probably the prettiest Eisenhower Dollar I have ever seen. Is it from the Peacock Hoard?
That is quite a compliment, thank you! It is one of several I got from @segoja several years ago. I’m not sure if they were part of the Peacock hoard or not.

Humor me on the 1795.... Why is it "Subsequently it is now a SP66" - as if "SP" had any legitimate meaning....

All from my Washington Quarter toner set.
Superb collections are built more by omission than by addition.
Penny isn't blue but part of the set.

PCGS can’t tell the difference between red and blue. Neither can you.
@Walkerguy21D the rim toning on that Morgan is simply stunning….

Gorgeous coins so far folks!
I loved this song as a kid.
Nah, the point was to start a thread on gorgeous eye appealing coins and I think I see a touch of blue in there.........
By golly, you’re right - I see blue on each one of them (as long as this is a pretend game).
Here are a couple more coins (which I can pretend “I think I can see a touch of blue in there”):
