Second time with reholder failure

BoosibriBoosibri Posts: 12,755 ✭✭✭✭✭

This is my second time and second failure trying to get this coin re-holder with the date as the reverse. I’m just without words opening the package again to see what was clearly written, not being done. And better yet $75,000 in coins sent in a flimsy FedEx envelope outside of a box..

Did they at least get the other coin right?

Yes they did. Added the Virgil Brand provenance without issue

They are putting g a LOT of faith into those new mini slab presentation boxes that they also use for eBay authentications. I’d guess anything 2 coins and below probably ships in these now instead of the plastic boxes……I just had a 3 coin order worth about 1/1000th of yours ship in a standard 20 coin box.

On the bright side, those are cool Ray Bans.

The packaging is concerning. I can see returning state quarters and widgets like that but not five figure coins.

I don't see the problem. The shipping boxes are either safe or they aren't. You've got a corrugated mailer with a hard shipping box inside.

How much protection does the dinky little holder in an envelope offer? I wouldn’t want an expensive order of mine returned that way.

FWIW, PCGS has the date side as the reverse in the TV. Beautiful coin - both sides!

Plenty IMO. This is essentially the same packaging style as all of the auction houses use. I don't mind it at all.

And as someone who often sends in small submissions, I'm happy to not have to add to my stack of black PCGS boxes which I have to tote to coin shows to give away.

Been there, experienced this. This kind of thing happens more frequently than one would imagine. It's not that hard to take an extra minute to read any specific notes on the order form to get it right the first time...let alone the second. So frustrating.

    @pcgs_social

    Hi Isa,

I realize that his would normally be a customer service issue. Notwithstanding, given the circumstances, I am asking that you get involved anyway.

Please consider reaching out to the OP via DM. Assuming he is willing to try a third time to get this coin reholdered in the desired orientation, please consider assisting him with this undertaking (at no charge).

Thanks for your contributions here, and for considering my request. :)

Suggest that you take it to a coin show where PCGS is doing on-site grading and talk to whoever is in charge. They'll probably fix it for you on-site while you're at the show.

I really do not even know where to start or even end... except writing less and not more does not begin to express the shock and disappointment of what I see here. I would be displeased if I were standing in your shoes Boosibri. And I recognize that this is a forum sponsored by our host. But in all fairness... you have to do better than this.

    Well short of expectations.

    This could be introducing confusion.

Trying to do this from phone to avoid transferring files. Here is an ngc with obverse scratch (on non-dated side) in Stacks auction.
Appears dated side is reverse to pcgs & ngc.

I can see the OP note of 'reholder w/ date as reverse' being interrupted as intended (date down). But also could see one interpreting it as @FredWeinberg wrote & wanting reverse up (which would be dated side up).
