Unknown: Content Removed

cheezhedcheezhed Posts: 6,434 ✭✭✭✭✭

I've been seeing this repeatedly on numerous threads. Any idea why or what this is?

Only that a number of individuals seem to have posted something, reflected upon it, then decided to delete their content.

If moderators were removing the content, I assume they would acknowledge it.

He’s in the penalty box for a few weeks. Now will those posts be revealed when he is out or will they go away-that is what we all have to look forward to!

I almost asked this question a couple days ago. I am seeing it quite frequently.

How does an "Unknown" user make a post with content that has been removed.

If a moderator was removing posts, I would expect the entire post would disappear. If a user edited and deleted the contents of their post, I would still expect the user to be identified.

What is going on? Ghosts from the past trying to reach out?

    That’s incorrect.
There is a prolific poster who’s currently in forum jail. And while he’s there, the posts he writes can be seen by him but not by others. All that the rest of us can see is Unknown: Content Removed.

When he is released from jail, will all his unknown posts be revealed for all to see?

When others have been in jail, they can post. We can see the posts and we can see the user is behind bars. Is this a different level af imprisonment?

You can talk to him if you want, just not through a comment on a thread.

It's jailed members trying to post and their content is blocked.

  • This content has been removed.

    Confirmed

Llamas and alpacas are camels. They aren't like camels, or related. They are camels. When was anyone going to tell me this?! How long had Bill Nye been holding out on us?

Defending eBay, even when eBay was right!

Hopefully his victims (mostly @Desert Moon ) feel that justice has been served and don't feel the need to pursue restitution.

Anyone else notice that the forum has been less contentious/augmentative the past few weeks. o:)

"Unknown" has not been gone for "the past few weeks". It hasn't even been two, yet.

    Just sayin'. :)

All I could think of was "the unknown comic" circa 1970's. The Gong Show.

Yea he showed me the reason which was very minor. Maybe the mod just needed a break or was going on vacation.

I don’t understand why his posts have all disappeared. Lots of people get a time out and can still post. Those posts are immediately visible.

I never knew what the moniker was about. Now it makes sense.
