not trying to pour salt in any wounds, but tonight was one of the worst GB games i've ever seen

they looked like a team that could easily lose 11-13 games

My hat off to you for staying the course with the Giants. Usually I don't change my original picks.

Flexing for a winning weekend since we all have Philly tomorrow. 11 wins out of 15, and I thought Dallas was gonna make me a genius. Oh well. Upcoming week has some really good matchups, tough to pick. Good luck y'all.

If it was against another team not called the Tennessee Titans I wouldn't have trusted the Giants lol

soundest nugget of advice i could ever give anyone in this thread:

it's so much more than just picking games. it's picking games, then making sure you don't see those exact same team names when you become privy to what rolled off my fingers

i promise, you'll experience a drastic improvement in your life

Not much I can add after Bgr did a Sports Illustrated worthy article but this week's action will do the talking

Green Bay and Philly had the entire room fooled this week, I'm glad only a few of us wager because those games hurt the wallet for a lot of people

It's only Week 4 so I am not making to big a deal out of the standings because being on top early doesn't earn you a trophy, that mountain of W's can get chiseled away from week to week especially during the Witching Hour when wins become losses and losses become wins

That being said, Bgr, Eli and Canes are setting the standard, maybe Darin, Steve, Galaxy and I should carbon copy their picks into our betting slips this week

JJ McCarthy is a G Man, Baker "I got a chip on my shoulder" Mayfield is out with a thumb, and Drake Maye forgot how to play QB so this week take that info into consideration and as always please double check your record as I am extremely capable of unintentionally messing it up in short order

I can only hope you make a mistake or two in my favor to get me out of the basement.πŸ˜€

This time I’m not going to tell Steve he’s wrong picking against KC. The Raiders should give them all they can handle and it actually wouldn’t surprise me if the Raiders win to tell the truth. 😩

I'd have to believe that with Tom Brady now part owner of the Raiders, that he will instill a winning attitude in that franchise. Of course the Raiders were dreadful last season, but 3-0 already this season. Whether they are good enough to beat the Chiefs this Sunday, we shall see.

Chiefs seem revigorated with the acquisition of Kenneth Walker. He reminds me of what Saquon Barkley did for the Eagles. If he stays healthy, that bodes very well for the Chiefs.

Thanks bud, I was on them enough to put a wager on them

Granted when the Steelers went up 7-0 I laughed and thought to myself "What was I thinking" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

I truly did think they were going to win the whole time before though

Unofficial Week 4 check-in - 15 of 16 in the books. @perkdog has the official book, so treat this as a placeholder until he posts.

    Week 4:
    perkdog 11-4
    Canes8387899101 11-4
    Darin 10-5
    Saint Ezzard 10-5
    bgr 9-6
    galaxy27 9-6
    BLUEJAYWAY 8-7
    ElMagoStrikeZone 8-7
    stevek 8-7

    Season:
    Canes8387899101 41
    bgr 40
    ElMagoStrikeZone 39
    Darin 38
    Saint Ezzard 37

    stevek 34

    BLUEJAYWAY 31

Last week it was Green Bay. This week it was Buffalo. All nine of us had the Bills, and the Patriots won 29-26. That's two weeks in a row that one game took down the whole room.

@perkdog said he couldn't believe he was picking Cleveland. He was the only one who did. Browns 27-24 on Thursday, and he had a head start on all of us before anyone else had a game. He also had Dallas over Houston (34-30) and Jacksonville in Cincinnati (22-17). He goes 11-4, the best week of anyone this year along with Canes. Perk said Bgr, Eli and Canes were setting the standard and the rest of them should copy our picks. He'd have been better off if we'd copied his.

@Canes8387899101 also goes 11-4 and takes sole possession of first. He took the Giants over Arizona (36-24) and Dallas, and he missed only the games the rest of us missed too.

@galaxy27 said the best advice in this thread is to make sure your picks don't match his. I didn't listen. Our first 15 picks are identical again. BJ only split from us on Tampa. The three of us are basically one picker right now, and one picker went 9-6 at best. Galaxy and I only split tonight. He's taking Atlanta, the team he wouldn't have taken over Western Michigan two weeks ago and now wouldn't bet against even if they played the '85 Bears. I'm on the Saints.

@BLUEJAYWAY learned last week not to change his original pick, so he stuck with Tampa without Baker. Packers 17-14. Changing picks hasn't worked, and neither has staying put. BJ also had the refs giving one to the Rams. Rams 24-20 in Philly, so he gets credit for that one.

@ElMagoStrikeZone and @stevek were the only two on Carolina. Panthers 32, Lions 26, which knocked out the seven of us who had Detroit. They also both took the Raiders. Chiefs 30-27. Steve was right that Kenneth Walker would help Kansas City, but he picked against them anyway. He was also alone on Denver at San Francisco (49ers 24-14). Steve, I didn't see a pick from you for Dallas-Houston, so I counted it as a loss. Perk can overrule me.

@Darin went 10-5 and moves up to fourth. He was right that the Raiders could hang with KC, and he picked the Chiefs anyway. That's the sensible way to do it.

Left to play: Falcons at Saints tonight. The Saints pick is Canes, Saint Ezzard, ElMago, Darin and me. The Falcons pick is perk, galaxy, BJ and Steve. Canes stays in first either way, a game ahead of me. If Atlanta wins, galaxy finally beats me in a week where we had the same picks.

No clue why I’m suddenly so emotionally committed to Sunday football. I was on the tightrope with Carolina last night while hoping to get to bed with just a shred of self respect. 🀣

Carolina surprised me last night, but I thought the Lions defense would be better. The Braves game had more of my attention as it was a must win for my Braves. It's still early. I usually have 1-2 clunker weeks in me!

Here we are finishing up Week 4 and not a whole lot has changed in the standings despite the bottom tier being the only ones who had Atlanta last night

Everyone is in it since it's a marathon not a sprint

@stevek if you remember who you were going to pick between the Dallas and Houston game post it up, we believe in the honor system here and I believe we are are all honorable contestants.

Does anyone think the Rams should have been annointed Super Bowl champs before the season started? I sure don't, Chiefs and 49'ers are sporting a perfect record along with Minny but I would not put them in the same category as SF and KC

The Browns and Watson are surprising people, especially me!

Still a bunch of teams looking for their first W, I think the biggest surprise is Houston followed by Tampa Bay, both teams that were pre season favorites to win their divisions while Miami and Tennessee are who we thought they were and offer no surprise, the Chargers always disappoint so meh on them either way.

Thanks @bgr for a great Sporting News write up, I haven't read this many good articles in a while

*Waiting on @stevek to let us know his Dallas vs Houston selection and the standings will be updated

of note: 11 out of 15 scheduled games this week feature road teams with a better record than the home team. 2 games feature teams with equal records, including woeful Houston vs. woeful Tennessee. Philly vs. Jax in London. So Dallas is the only home team with a better record than the opponent.
