It was for a lot of two as opposed to a single coin.
Well that's interesting. So right now I have a listing for a 2026 P & D Dime Set in PCGS MS68 for well over $500. I guess that will be rejected too? Mine is not miscategorized, it's in the proper category for 2026 dimes. Unless they are suggesting the the "appropriate" category is the "sets and lots" category.
I don't know if this has been pointed out in any of the other eBay Authenticity Guarantee threads, but it's not great that the sample photo used on the seller FAQ page appears to be...
A coin from the bullion category, which does not qualify for eAG
Won a coin on Sept 19 and it was shipped to PCGS that day. It’s been authenticated and is being shipped to me today. ETA is Monday the 5th. So a littler under 3 weeks. The part that I’m questioning is PCGS is sending it USPS Ground Advantage with no additional insurance above the $100 that is included. I thought they sent via FedEx? Also being a coin over $500 I would expect full coverage.
Members I have done business with: Silverman68, jfoot13, GAB, ricman, Smittys, scrapman1077, RyGuy, Connecticoin, Meltdown, VikingDude, Peaceman, Patches and more.
This "guarantee" program may give the customer a false sense of security, even if they paid too much. What if they want to return it after going through this whole verification process? I hope the guy who bought the Indian cent got a good deal.

I'm sure it's fully insured.

What they paid is on them.
They can't SNAD it, but you can always force a return with your payment processor.
Do we think they would have offered this for coins if it failed so miserably for FIVE years with cards, shoes, handbags, and watches?

The customer will have to pay attention to the listing -- if the seller does NOT accept returns, then it would be a final sale (unless they try the payment-processor route -- but it will be more difficult than in the past to win that because eBay will have evidence of making the purchase with Authenticity and tracking along the way).
Some sellers DO Accept Returns with the Authenticity Guarantee. In that case, they would send the item back to PCGS for their review (that the item is the same as originally purchased). So the Customer needs to pay attention to FINAL SALE vs. RETURNS ACCEPTED.

Can you ask to keep coin there to have it graded or regrade in a slab??
Some of that seems to be an option for cards, but not yet for coins. Maybe in the future though.
