I guess we should all be thankful for the $20,000 Liberty Bell gold coins. They were so expensive and unpopular enough that they might have scared off the speculators on buying this coin.

These are outside my budget but I at least had to take a peek. I looked at the website 1 minute after release and there was no waiting room. Just the coin sitting there with the big red add to bag button all lit up. Definitely not like yesterday's release when I took a peek and was slapped into a 30 minute waiting room.

Yes, I think so. I think the U.S. Mint puts a test charge or something on your card but it's not really charged yet. I'm quite certain of this because of the craziness with the first year issue of the new Morgan and Peace dollars where product wasn't shipped for months after ordering. Between the time of ordering and the time of shipping, my card expired and I was worried that my order would get cancelled.

I didn't read this entire thread -- is there a reason they only had a little over 11,000 ATS today? What happened to the other ~4K?

yeah im aware of that but the mint has been flying fast and loose this year more than most so I wouldn't put it past them

AI HOLD will vanish in a few minutes. That's a step most don't see.

I just realized I didn't get free shipping with this order.

On the payments page, the cheapest option is around $14. I selected that one. Once I received the email, it says shipping was free

My last two Mint returns took 1 month & 3 days to credit a few minutes ago.
I called earlier today, second time, last time two weeks ago and was told that they are running up to two months behind on returns, you know instead of 3 to 5 days goal.

Question: Where is the nominal face value $ on the gold coin? I thought any coin should have one otherwise it will not be called "coin"!

The Mint store for me from here on out. It was fun and easy. Plenty of time to look w/a loupe. Could have easily switched if not a good coin. Have 7 days to return for immediate refund.
