Very unusual. It must be highly collectible. You should start a thread.

It was Pasadena. Sambos became a Bakers Square I believe and the gas station became a Carl’s Jr.

I don't see the problem. Was it damaged?

    Isn't it obvious? No tape!

Yeah, it can be opened with a blow dryer and resealed without anyone ever knowing.
Also, will PCGS and NGC take coins in these bags after the 30 day first strike because there is no tape?
I don’t send them in immediately because I wait for a quarterly special where I can save some money on grading.

    Bingo.

I had my coin sent this way, and I dont like it, either. Very cheap and it is a problem for the reasons you stated.

To be fair to the mint, I don't know why they should be responsible for making sure you can get PCGS and NGC to label the coins in any particular fashion.

I’m more worried about someone in the deliverly pipeline opening packages and resealing them without any evidence it occurred, so when I finally send it in, PCGS ends up with a box with rocks in it instead of a coin.

They've had numerous different packaging over the years. When they first started using the 8x6 boxes, the tape was so bad that it would be half off when I got it.

I don't have the fear of bubble envelopes, I guess. I can open the box, even with the magic tape in 5 seconds with a box cutter.

I just unsealed the plastic bubble shipping bag with a hairdryer.

So, in theory, would one be able to seal it back up without drawing any notice, for that 30 day first strike designation?

I'm sure some would like to ensure they don't have a box of rocks if the envelope is easily able to be opened.

Note, I'm not recommending anyone ever do this....this question is theoretical in nature.

opening is the easy step. you have to reseal it without noticeable effects

I think the "fulfillment center" employees are hitting the sauce at work.

I ordered both the Morgan and Peace enhanced the same day. They shipped in two separate shipments. One arrived - the Morgan - with the Peace's tracking number. The other one - with the Morgan tracking number - is hung up somewhere. I wonder what's in that one? Will it ever arrive?
