eBay sold prices today are the same as on the day of your claim. Like I said. They are still strong and still sold out.

So, okay, "still strong and still sold out."

I'm trying to broker a deal here. @jmlanzaf has a few hundred coming, and is a seller at $150. How many do you want? None? I thought so.

He doesn't care to even look.

They are about $10 lower than they were 3 weeks ago. As long as they stay above $150, it's all good (for me).

Apparently, it's another item he has no interest in that he's also an "expert" in.

There were a few sales on the 19th that were $10 higher than they are now, but there were also some sales lower than what they are now. Overall it’s about the same the best I can tell.

just noticed the ATS is 34,867. it looks like the subs hit.

With an HHL of 10, how long do you think these last?
@jmlanzaf if these go too quickly, FOMO could set in temporarily on the secondary market, pushing this over $200 for a period of time.

That was my hope in holding on to the subs. Like everything, it's a gamble

I was surprised to hear the ATS was that low, while still keeping the HHL at 10. How long do you believe those will hold out on Tuesday?

They'll go fast, since there aren't that many of them. The real is question is what is going to happen in the secondary market?

A lot of the 90K already spoken for will be offered for resale. The BOMs are sitting, at higher prices but much lower mintages. No one seems to care about 60K 2026-Ps, but they managed to sell 400K regular proofs.

So, they should be good, but people might also be getting burnt out. TBD, but they are a reasonable bet with a mintage of 125K.

As far as the HHL goes, I think the lesson they learned from holding back Congratulations sets and regular proof ASEs, and then selling the remainder later with no HHL to a lukewarm reception, is to strike while the iron is hot and just sell them.

Subscriptions were available long enough for anyone paying attention to get them. They're likely very happy now to just sell the balance, 10 at time, and be done with them, rather than cutting people back and then risking having them not sell out.

Very reasonable take on what 2026 has brought us so far. Hopefully they don't decide to mint another 100,000 of them after seeing these sell out quickly on Tuesday. Seems to be a lesson they aren't learning from the aforementioned releases you used as examples above.

Looks like the 2026 Uncirculated set is now sitting Add to bag for the last few days with about 7,000 left to sell this morning. Not sure how many they offered up on back order. Was it a substantial number?

No. As much as I pretty much hate the direction they are going in, they won't do that. What they did with the proof ASEs is not the same, because they intentionally under produced them, and then stopped taking orders and did not take Back Orders, choosing instead to produce the remainder and place them on sale months later.

That won't happen here, assuming 90K accurately reflects subscriptions and ABPP sales, and that 35K is all that remains from the 125K mintage limit. No way will they meaningfully exceed 125K.

They published that number specifically to encourage people to buy. They won't pull the rug out from them, any more than they will now make another 5K silver Liberty Bells.

I haven't been paying attention to the Uncirculated sets since launch, so I have no idea where all the extra inventory is coming from. My bet is Big Boys canceling Back Order quantity because they are seeing sales already start to soften and don't want to get stuck at these prices.

Not because thousands of credit cards failed, or because they are exceeding mintage limits. They'll sell out as long as people can flip them on eBay, but that too will stop at some point.

At which point even more Back Orders will be canceled. As a result, their sell out might end the same way the gold Liberty Bells and proof ASEs will end. By not actually selling out.

What they chose to do with the ASE this year made me dump mine. Didn't think I wanted to hold onto one of 500,000 at $173. I can do without that one. I'll keep one of these for my 2026 collection and forego the other.

The Uncirculated set now says this "This item is available to be ordered now, but it is not currently in stock. Additional inventory is being made. Please add the item to your cart to see when additional inventory is expected to be available" and "This product is currently on back order and is estimated to ship on Fri Aug 21 2026" when placed in your cart.

As for the Liberty Bell golds, I'm not sure those will sell out any time soon. 634 ONE oz and 445 half oz remain on a Sunday morning.

Right. People are buying Back Ordered uncirculated sets now because they can be sold on eBay for more than $124.50. If those prices start to weaken, as they almost certainly will, and people can't deliver within eBay's guidelines, and buyers start to cancel because they see prices dropping, watch for people to start canceling their Mint Back Orders.

They are only available because large buyers already canceled Back Orders. They have a view into the retail market that the small sellers don't currently have, but they will catch up. Just wait.

So what’s your timeline for when the uncirculated sets start to tank?

Haven't they already? @jmlanzaf is the expert on this, given the large number he has on back order, and the price weakness already being observed.

The odds are the price will be going down, not up, once the back ordered sets hit the market. Ask him if he is committed to taking all of the sets he has on order.

Nope, prices are still strong and they are still sold out.

They have weakened slightly, as have the Lincoln prices. I think it'll be a fair amount of time before they are under the issue price. But I have considered cutting my order in half.

And the fact is that you are not alone. The demand is what it is, and has likely already peaked. The other side of the equation is supply, and that will increase significantly when the back ordered coins hit the market. Same as what happened with West Point proof ASEs.

Really not a mystery, even if @jwitten wants to turn it into one. if I'm wrong, maybe you can work something out with him where he agrees to take whatever you are thinking about canceling off your hands for a premium, given that "prices are still strong and they are still sold out."

I don't think the supply increase is that "significant". Isn't it only 10 or 20% of the total mintage.

Yes. That's all it takes at the margin. Which is what makes it "significant."

With the ASEs. 60% of the maximum mintage was made available at launch, with 40% held back. Around 50% of that 40% is still available how many weeks out from the second release now? Only 20% of total mintage. Yet it's hanging over the entire market, and keeping prices suppressed.

There is either pent up demand ready to absorb it at current prices, or else you are going to see the floor fall out from beneath you when you go to sell them once in hand. You know this, which is why you are having second thoughts.

No. I'm having second thoughts because the natural trend of Mint product prices is almost always down. I would expect them to weaken with our without 30,000 new sets. That is why I hesitated to buy them in the first place and also why I didn't buy 1000 sets.

I have no doubt the price will be above $124.50 after the release. What i don't know is whether it is high enough to be worth the effort.

You'd think you would have learned something yesterday on the gold bell thread about making assumptions. But, at least you're consistent.

Yes, I'm consistent. I also have not validated that the Mint is not shipping Liberty Bells. I'm just giving a respected member of the forum the benefit of the doubt.

With this, it's a no-brainer. You are saying the same thing as I am.

They were going for over $200 after release. Now they are $170 and heading lower.

@jwitten was just looking for an argument with me, as though they have not already started to tank, even though they are still above issue price ("prices are still strong"), with tens of thousands remaining to be shipped. If you and the folks awaiting the remaining 30K had them, you'd be dumping them.

As I said, if there is pent up demand to absorb them at current prices, you'd "know is whether it is high enough to be worth the effort." Like me, you don't think it will be there.

The question is not +/- $124.50 the day after the back orders ship. We both know they are headed below issue price. We just don't know exactly when.

So, I'm not wrong, and there is nothing to argue about. They are already far below where they were the day after release, so they have already begun to tank. They are just not yet done tanking.

If @jwitten does not agree, you just might have a buyer at current prices for whatever you have coming that you no longer want. Otherwise, as I said, he was just looking to pick a fight with me, and talk is cheap.

They really have not dropped that much. They were at $190 when I got my first subscriptions and they are just about $180 now.

Then it's my mistake. I thought they were higher, and I am seeing plenty go for below $180 now.

To be honest, I was reacting as much to your aggressive buying, and now expressed hesitation to take delivery as to anything else. So you do seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth on this. Locking in sales at $150 while lecturing me about the prices holding at "just about $180 now." Which is it?

I know -- $180 now, but not necessarily when you would be taking delivery. Yeah, as I said, tanking.

I was HONEST about this issue, examining both sides of the trade. That is not "talking out of both sides of your mouth". It is considering the entire picture, doing research, and being reasonable.

For the reasons I've stated: If I could have gotten immediate delivery 2 weeks ago, I would have bought 1000. Since I had to wait 5 weeks, I only bought 220 of them, with some hesitation. Simple, clearly enunciated facts with the supporting reasons.

My tracking has the average dropping about $10 from the release, but it's still in the ballpark. I generally agree with you. (And your much easier to talk to than NJ.) I'm more concerned about 3 weeks from now, but that's just reasonable caution in my book.

It's only $28,000 and I certainly wouldn't lose more than a tiny fraction of that if they dropped more. They aren't going to drop $50 in 3 weeks. So, I'll likely roll the dice

I should know better than to be transparent here. I should try just gaslighting everything. [I'm not referring to you. You have been a pleasure. ]

No. Because I'm agreeing with you. No one is talking about what you would have done 2 weeks ago.

We are talking about now, with delivery in the future. You are talking out of both sides of your mouth when conflating what was with what will be.

For some reason, @jwitten came out of nowhere, on an unrelated thread, for giving me a hard time for predicting when these came out that the price would eventually tank. As it has been. Argue about the degree. Argue about the timing. But it is happening. "Simple, clearly enunciated facts with the supporting reasons."

Again, if I am incorrect, and past equals prologue, I think I found a buyer for you at $150. @jwitten? Paging @jwitten.

If not, I think we all on the same page, but you two want to parse my words to find something to criticize.

I pointed to you because you are the guy with the standing orders who has been public about your doubts. For some reason, @jwitten wanted to take a victory lap on my head as though what's happening isn't happening. And you are playing both sides, as though you don't see what is happening.

"$180 isn't that much below $190." Ignoring current sales below $180, ignoring past sales above $190, and ignoring your own admitted desire to lock in future sales at $150.

Now, argue with me about the direction of these. Right now. Today. Quote me $180 while committing to selling in the future at $150. Feel free.

Your response continues to do a disservice to your own reputation.

Feel free.

I never argued about direction. The direction of 99% of all Mint products is down. I think I've been very clear about that for decades.

I don't know what your disagreement is with jwitten, but I'm not sure why I got dragged into it.

I've already told you that the $180 and $190 numbers were averages, not "ignoring" anything. And I didn't claime a "desire to lock in future sales at $150". I mentioned that I had a dealer lock in a sale at $150 which is actually equivalent to an eBay sale of $175 after eBay fees and shipping. The fact that a dealer is locking in sales at $150 is actually a "bullish" indicator and indicates the Exchange numbers are not lower than that.

just noticed the ATS is 34,867. it looks like the subs hit.

Your response continues to do a disservice to your own reputation.

You and I are totally fine. @jwitten just came out of nowhere, earlier in this thread, of all places, to ask me "So what’s your timeline for when the uncirculated sets start to tank?"

Giving me a hard time, because I said they would eventually tank when 300K were to be made at $124.50, and as though that has not yet begun. I only dragged you in because I thought you'd have something to say that would be supportive, given that you made no secret about ordering a lot, and now having second thoughts given that they have not yet shipped and the prices are already sliding. That's all.

    Fair enough. We AGREE

Just a wild azz guess - but was it a Chase card?

When I first saw the coin that the mint shipped to me (on subscription) the coin appeared to be a reverse proof! I confirmed from the packaging that it was indeed an "Enhanced Uncirculated" American Silver Eagle and not simply the Uncirculated version of the ASE as issued from 2006 to 2025. This is a whole different coin. Makes me wonder if the "Enhanced" Uncirculated ASE will continue in 2027, or will the Mint go back to the former Uncirculated version. I did not like the price, but it's a nice coin.

    Yes. It was 7:25ish.

They had a bunch of these. I got in 3 orders before they went dark. I didn't see the ATS number because it's a waste of time if you're trying to buy.

I think the bots have given up on the bells for now. No waiting room.

The latest sales figures show all the silver Bells have been sold up to the mintage limit, so that likely helps. The bot action would have netted them nothing this week in that regard. I was able to get a two roll set of the Declaration quarters before getting thrown into the waiting room, so I didn't get to look around much.

At least it appears the Mint is trying to do SOMETHING to thwart the bot swarm.

**edit*** the Silver proof set wasn't add to bag until 7:35. I wonder if they have begun to stagger the usual 7:30 drop?

Staggering the release helps the bots. Humans don't know when to log in. The bot can sit there 24/7 checking availability.

Interestingly, I placed 3 order. The first time I just tried 1 because speed matters. I then tried 9 and 20, but it seems like they adjusted down each order to 1 when it went through. I don't have confirmation emails but the CC ping was for only one.

That's a good point. Didn't think about the law of unintended consequences. Staggering drops in the morning would make the Bot swarm larger and their efforts last most of the morning if that was the case. Oh well....next idea.

I still favor the auction to set the price. If you kill the secondary market, there is no flip to be made. [And I say that a a regular flipper. ]

This has been the best flipping year in at least 5 years, maybe 10, with multiple flippable products including the very lucrative silver bells (shout out to Nj). Of course it's attracting attention.

FOMO-fever. It's going to be a very, very long time until you see this again I would imagine.

Auctions are an interesting concept. Are you thinking that the Mint could pull that off on their site? Or just send everything out to Stacks?

Looking ahead, there's not that much left to the year. 23 products and I think 10 of those are Super Hero stuff and 2 more Presidential medals. Aside from the $1 Trump coin, I wonder if we will have anything more to add to the fall releases. I think October is the start of the Mint's 2027 fiscal year?

They can do it on their site. It's just an old Dutch auction.

You would have a pre-release bidding period without whatever HHL limits you want. You do it like IPOs: the lowest successful bid sets the price for everyone.

The tricky part is how you handle bulk slabbers and the like who may rant more coins then the limits. But maybe they can just have a separate limit.

The price discovery happens pre-release which should kill the secondary market for the most part. There is no single drop with everyone lined up. You could have several weeks of orderly bidding before release.

It makes the bots irrelevant since there is no race to purchase. You still have to police HHL violations in the buyers groups, but i think that's easier.

Of course, most collectors will hate it. It guarantees they can get what they want. But it also guarantees they don't get a steal. So, for example, they ask could have gotten a silver bell, but the price would have been $3k to $5k, not $750.

Same with the uncirculated sets. Everyone who wanted a mint set would have gotten one but at $175 instead of $124.50

What most collectors want just doesn't exist: easy access at a low price to s guaranteed winner.

You could also just go to a pre-sale period with unlimited mintages. But you have the same outcome, demand will adjust to price rather than price to demand, but you will have no big "winners" as everything is largely maxed out at release.

I picked up 1. Agree, it is very close to RP.
Comparing to my RP Morgan / Peace $s, The RP device is shinier, the EH ASE device looks more like the shiny part of tin foil - comparatively. The fields even look a bit different, but not sure my mind is playing tricks on me.
    ...
Make me wonder exactly how they will do the EH Morgan / Peace $s??? Since they already have RP.

The sales figures through 10 Aug implied there was only 876 more of these to sell. If there is 2,400 of these on sale today there must have been 1,500+ returns processed in the last few weeks. Have people been seeing quality/production issues with these coins or are people simply losing interest?

Could be returns based on disappointment. I know that many were hoping for the 2013 look and didn't like that it wasn't. In checking the secondary market, they're not setting the world on fire.

Well, theyre gone now. But they were available for a very long time. I grabbed one. I could've ordered 100, though.

Given that last sentence, which seems to be the case, why do so many want multiples?

Good question at this price. Will they be worth over $169 at some point? Maybe wanting multiples to grade them??

They are a good flip right now at $220. Nets about $190 after fees and free shipping.

They are right now. I think they'll be worth less at some point. But for now they could be flipped.

Thanks for the research and the share! I was wondering about all these thousands that have appeared the last few days. By the time a seller would get those, the prices you found may slip lower. I just figured the flip was dead.

They've been holding at this price for the last few weeks. I would have bought some but I already have 25k tied up in the Mint sets and it's been hard to predict shipping on some of these things

Haven’t actually tracked numbers on 2026 products on paper, but it seemed to me that with each wave of new inventory, prices moved down another level. Assumed the same here, so it’s good to see info from someone with really good reason to be aware of the trend. I’ve ordered two keepers last week and they advanced to “processing” this morning.

It's too soon for me to know what this last release has done to prices on the EU ASE.

The new release of Mint sets dropped the price about $10 almost instantly when they shipped.

Eventually, I think $169 will end up in the rear view mirror for the EU coins. I'm not sure there are any Eagles with mintages over 100k that have prices over $100. Even the Congratulations set coin at 60k mintage is struggling to hold the $200 level.

So, about $20 net (before tax) after fees & shipping - not to mention time, effort, etc? - Doesn't seem worth the trouble.

I think at those prices it’s about volume. You need a decent volume per product to make it work. 4 or 5 of them it certainly not worth it to many people unless they’ve got a large, varied inventory.

I’m certainly rooting for you on those uncirculated sets!

As far as the EU ASE, you’re spot on with your analysis of the Eagles price progression. The Congrats was quite an eye-opener for the new Mint pricing as it then relates to secondary action. I was surprised to see it drop so quickly after the first 40,000 were joined by the additional 20,000. The “enhanced price” shrunk the collector base for that one rather quickly.

People say that all the time, but a 10% net margin on coins is about the most you can hope for. Try and buy and sell Morgan silver dollars.

Now, sure. 10% of $200 is less than 10% of $2000. But since total time and effort is probably 20 minutes, so it is effectively $60 per hour for the $200 coin.

It's kind of funny, really. If most people on this forum came to me with a collection and I offered you 30% back of retail, they'd balk - or even call me names. They'd consign to auction for a 20% haircut. So, how do you buy a coin with more than a 20% gross spread so you can net more than 10%? People should be more forgiving of their dealers. LOL.

And try it with gold. You're lucky to buy it with a 5% spread to try and make 2%.

I think 10% in any business or product type is fair. It’s not all that often that 200% + is achievable. That’s the rare stock market profit goal that we would all be overjoyed with. Coins, as you stated, aren’t that type of win. 10% is great, but not with just one or two coins. You do, in fact, want volume, and in the case of 200+ coins, you do want volume buyers to come calling.

On a lighter note, as far as calling you names for a 30% below retail offer……I’ve seen you called names for literally no reason at all. 🤣🤣
