The waiting room is a joke. It seems like its just luck of the draw or tech savvy people know a way around it. I logged in at 7:20 this morning and was immediately dumped into the waiting room for about 40 minutes. I'm not expecting to get in on every drop but i cant get anything anymore.

what will eventually happen is the "end" collector will get frustrated and will not be a buyer at higher levels......the middle men will pull their buy offers and the folks with the bots will be sitting on product - ready for return.
the USM HAS to fix this if they plan on haveing any viable numismatic coin business in the future.

the USM should go with a lottery method.

5 hour window on release day to place your "order" for one item per HH/per account. Checkout the item.

After the five hour window closes the USM "vets" the orders to determine any HHL violations, one item per CC (no virtual card numbers), cross ref cc address with shipping address, or whatever other cross checks filter out any bad orders. Pick the winners randomly.

Notify by email the "winners" which will have their order fulfilled (similar to email that go out about confirmed orders today)

Others not fulfilled just have thier CC authorizations drop off thier accounts.

    simple and easy.
ensure the lottery box doesnt get stuffed. no creation of accounts on the fly at the last minute. etc etc etc.

im sure if this was thought through it could be up and running in no time.

While you bring up some very good points and frustrations, the Mint in 2027 will most likely just be happy to sell whatever they have to whoever wants it, regardless of what we say.
The waiting room is frustrating at its clock sometimes makes less than zero sense in how it waffles from one minute to one hour and back again.

That's really what the EUc is supposed to look like, if you recall the original EU sets. The 2013 is the one that doesn't look EU.

Yet I believe that many had their hearts and minds set on the 2013 redux. I’m not disappointed in it. It’s beautiful as it is.

I had the same problems with the waiting room, didn’t get mine. Yesterday, two arrived from my subscription I thought wouldn’t be fullfilled.

Nah. If this was true, they wouldn't be purging the bot orders today. But they do -- that's where inventory for drops like today come from.

If they really want to get a handle on this and don't want to invest in whatever technology is available to effectively frustrate the bots, the move is to either make every single thing available for early purchase via subscription. That will frustrate the buyers clubs that don't know a nickel from a dime. Sorry, but I have sympathy for anyone shut out now when these were available for months by subscription. They are no better than the buyers clubs, just waking up now because there is a flip.

If they want to take it one step further, they can do what other world mints do, and open staggered order windows, where your level of access is determined by your past purchase volume. Basically a retail version of the bulk buyer program. It has the virtue of rewarding the best customers while also locking out randos who only come in for the flips.

Or, they can continue doing what they are doing, and keep turning off actual long time collectors. Hopefully people will give Hollis an earful at the upcoming ANA show. He seems very tuned into the retail market, as evidenced by all the things, good and not so good, he has done since taking over, so I bet he will be receptive to feedback on this.

I hope he is receptive to this, as I’ve seen so many better ideas here on this forum that what we’ve seen in action from the Mint.
While bot orders have obviously been purged for several big items this year, it’s not a constant feature of Mint action. Granted, it seems to be more prevalent here lately.
Any idea (or does anyone else) how many of these EU Silvers came back today? One poster points out at least 220 came between his 3 orders of 5.

I'm sure quite a few. 220 was the order count. With no limits, I'm sure a lot more than that was sold. Plus, that doesn't even account for all of the orders. Again, given that everyone was able to get at least 10 ahead of time, no sympathy for those who only woke up at the end and then got shut out.

Without question! Haven’t seen this type of waiting room on a Saturday

    .
    .
I think most of the current early morning traffic is caused by the silver bell, lots of $$$ being made.

When they are done, I think we'll get back to normal.....close to normal.

    .
We need to see a RED SOLD OUT ....... B)

Arrived this morning. Looks like a 70 under several loops. Has two tiny black spots on obverse field that turned out to be turds on the inside surface of the plastic capsule. The positions move with careful rotation of encapsulated coin. Phew !
Compared to a 70 commercial strike 2026 ASE, this one has significant features to warrant an above average difference.
I have compared the 2013 EU ASE pics to this, and I have a love/hate impression with the former. At a distance it appears attractive with the striped skirt. Up closer it becomes a bit cheesy for my tastes. I like the flag detail though.

Yes. Your old order history also can temporarily disappear. It's an odd little feature of the Mint website.

With the constant bot bombardment, is there even a point in trying to order these in the morning? Even if one adds them to their cart, their bag is immediately emptied somehow.

How about an email bombardment campaign to Hollis citing the 'bot' invasion!

You don't need to e-bomb him, just send him an email with your concern. I emailed him about other issues and got a lengthy reply. He is obviously putting in the hours that shows me he is not just some bureaucrat but actually cares about the Mint and collectors.

They probably have been using the same old Commodore 64 to run the Mint order program since I still had brown hair.

Yeah. It's something in the structure of the software itself. I'm surprised they don't just farm it out like they did the fulfillment.

just noticed the ATS is 34,867. it looks like the subs hit.

With an HHL of 10, how long do you think these last?
@jmlanzaf if these go too quickly, FOMO could set in temporarily on the secondary market, pushing this over $200 for a period of time.

That was my hope in holding on to the subs. Like everything, it's a gamble

I was surprised to hear the ATS was that low, while still keeping the HHL at 10. How long do you believe those will hold out on Tuesday?

They'll go fast, since there aren't that many of them. The real is question is what is going to happen in the secondary market?

A lot of the 90K already spoken for will be offered for resale. The BOMs are sitting, at higher prices but much lower mintages. No one seems to care about 60K 2026-Ps, but they managed to sell 400K regular proofs.

So, they should be good, but people might also be getting burnt out. TBD, but they are a reasonable bet with a mintage of 125K.

As far as the HHL goes, I think the lesson they learned from holding back Congratulations sets and regular proof ASEs, and then selling the remainder later with no HHL to a lukewarm reception, is to strike while the iron is hot and just sell them.

Subscriptions were available long enough for anyone paying attention to get them. They're likely very happy now to just sell the balance, 10 at time, and be done with them, rather than cutting people back and then risking having them not sell out.

Very reasonable take on what 2026 has brought us so far. Hopefully they don't decide to mint another 100,000 of them after seeing these sell out quickly on Tuesday. Seems to be a lesson they aren't learning from the aforementioned releases you used as examples above.

Looks like the 2026 Uncirculated set is now sitting Add to bag for the last few days with about 7,000 left to sell this morning. Not sure how many they offered up on back order. Was it a substantial number?

No. As much as I pretty much hate the direction they are going in, they won't do that. What they did with the proof ASEs is not the same, because they intentionally under produced them, and then stopped taking orders and did not take Back Orders, choosing instead to produce the remainder and place them on sale months later.

That won't happen here, assuming 90K accurately reflects subscriptions and ABPP sales, and that 35K is all that remains from the 125K mintage limit. No way will they meaningfully exceed 125K.

They published that number specifically to encourage people to buy. They won't pull the rug out from them, any more than they will now make another 5K silver Liberty Bells.

I haven't been paying attention to the Uncirculated sets since launch, so I have no idea where all the extra inventory is coming from. My bet is Big Boys canceling Back Order quantity because they are seeing sales already start to soften and don't want to get stuck at these prices.

Not because thousands of credit cards failed, or because they are exceeding mintage limits. They'll sell out as long as people can flip them on eBay, but that too will stop at some point.

At which point even more Back Orders will be canceled. As a result, their sell out might end the same way the gold Liberty Bells and proof ASEs will end. By not actually selling out.

What they chose to do with the ASE this year made me dump mine. Didn't think I wanted to hold onto one of 500,000 at $173. I can do without that one. I'll keep one of these for my 2026 collection and forego the other.

The Uncirculated set now says this "This item is available to be ordered now, but it is not currently in stock. Additional inventory is being made. Please add the item to your cart to see when additional inventory is expected to be available" and "This product is currently on back order and is estimated to ship on Fri Aug 21 2026" when placed in your cart.

As for the Liberty Bell golds, I'm not sure those will sell out any time soon. 634 ONE oz and 445 half oz remain on a Sunday morning.

Right. People are buying Back Ordered uncirculated sets now because they can be sold on eBay for more than $124.50. If those prices start to weaken, as they almost certainly will, and people can't deliver within eBay's guidelines, and buyers start to cancel because they see prices dropping, watch for people to start canceling their Mint Back Orders.

They are only available because large buyers already canceled Back Orders. They have a view into the retail market that the small sellers don't currently have, but they will catch up. Just wait.

So what’s your timeline for when the uncirculated sets start to tank?

Haven't they already? @jmlanzaf is the expert on this, given the large number he has on back order, and the price weakness already being observed.

The odds are the price will be going down, not up, once the back ordered sets hit the market. Ask him if he is committed to taking all of the sets he has on order.

Really not a mystery, even if @jwitten wants to turn it into one. if I'm wrong, maybe you can work something out with him where he agrees to take whatever you are thinking about canceling off your hands for a premium, given that "prices are still strong and they are still sold out."

Really not a mystery, even if @jwitten wants to turn it into one. if I'm wrong, maybe you can work something out with him where he agrees to take whatever you are thinking about canceling off your hands for a premium, given that "prices are still strong and they are still sold out."

I don't think the supply increase is that "significant". Isn't it only 10 or 20% of the total mintage.

Haven't they already? @jmlanzaf is the expert on this, given the large number he has on back order, and the price weakness already being observed.

The odds are the price will be going down, not up, once the back ordered sets hit the market. Ask him if he is committed to taking all of the sets he has on order.

Nope, prices are still strong and they are still sold out.

They have weakened slightly, as have the Lincoln prices. I think it'll be a fair amount of time before they are under the issue price. But I have considered cutting my order in half.

And the fact is that you are not alone. The demand is what it is, and has likely already peaked. The other side of the equation is supply, and that will increase significantly when the back ordered coins hit the market. Same as what happened with West Point proof ASEs.

I don't think the supply increase is that "significant". Isn't it only 10 or 20% of the total mintage.

Yes. That's all it takes at the margin. Which is what makes it "significant."

With the ASEs. 60% of the maximum mintage was made available at launch, with 40% held back. Around 50% of that 40% is still available how many weeks out from the second release now? Only 20% of total mintage. Yet it's hanging over the entire market, and keeping prices suppressed.

There is either pent up demand ready to absorb it at current prices, or else you are going to see the floor fall out from beneath you when you go to sell them once in hand. You know this, which is why you are having second thoughts.

No. I'm having second thoughts because the natural trend of Mint product prices is almost always down. I would expect them to weaken with our without 30,000 new sets. That is why I hesitated to buy them in the first place and also why I didn't buy 1000 sets.

I have no doubt the price will be above $124.50 after the release. What i don't know is whether it is high enough to be worth the effort.

You'd think you would have learned something yesterday on the gold bell thread about making assumptions. But, at least you're consistent.

You'd think you would have learned something yesterday on the gold bell thread about making assumptions. But, at least you're consistent.

Yes, I'm consistent. I also have not validated that the Mint is not shipping Liberty Bells. I'm just giving a respected member of the forum the benefit of the doubt.

With this, it's a no-brainer. You are saying the same thing as I am.

They were going for over $200 after release. Now they are $170 and heading lower.

@jwitten was just looking for an argument with me, as though they have not already started to tank, even though they are still above issue price ("prices are still strong"), with tens of thousands remaining to be shipped. If you and the folks awaiting the remaining 30K had them, you'd be dumping them.

As I said, if there is pent up demand to absorb them at current prices, you'd "know is whether it is high enough to be worth the effort." Like me, you don't think it will be there.

The question is not +/- $124.50 the day after the back orders ship. We both know they are headed below issue price. We just don't know exactly when.

So, I'm not wrong, and there is nothing to argue about. They are already far below where they were the day after release, so they have already begun to tank. They are just not yet done tanking.

If @jwitten does not agree, you just might have a buyer at current prices for whatever you have coming that you no longer want. Otherwise, as I said, he was just looking to pick a fight with me, and talk is cheap.

eBay sold prices today are the same as on the day of your claim. Like I said. They are still strong and still sold out.

He doesn't care to even look.

They are about $10 lower than they were 3 weeks ago. As long as they stay above $150, it's all good (for me).

Apparently, it's another item he has no interest in that he's also an "expert" in.

They really have not dropped that much. They were at $190 when I got my first subscriptions and they are just about $180 now.

just noticed the ATS is 34,867. it looks like the subs hit.

Then it's my mistake. I thought they were higher, and I am seeing plenty go for below $180 now.

To be honest, I was reacting as much to your aggressive buying, and now expressed hesitation to take delivery as to anything else. So you do seem to be talking out of both sides of your mouth on this. Locking in sales at $150 while lecturing me about the prices holding at "just about $180 now." Which is it?

I know -- $180 now, but not necessarily when you would be taking delivery. Yeah, as I said, tanking.
