Stewart, as a rule, did not “provenance” his coins. Since his passing in 2022, others have as they acquired them, particularly from the November, 2023 GC auctions.
I’ve resisted the temptation to do so, preferring to leave them as they were when the “master” owned them.
This coin is interesting as he preferred to keep this one over a 65RD he owned. It’s also an officially undesignated Shallow N, a rare subset of a rare date, especially in RD.
This 1907-s has a very short provenance tracing back to the SF Mint. Likely came directly from SF Mint in 1907/ John H. Clapp -->Louis Eliasberg-->Larry Miller Collection-->Eldorado
