And who is dying for an overpriced low mintage Liberty Bell can have one for $10K that contains a half ounce of gold. Any takers here?

Silver sold out in less than 4 minutes.

All bots. According to @illini420, they had no wait at all and still couldn't check out. The fact that happened, in addition to gold still being available, tells us exactly who is buying, and why. Now let's see where eBay sales end up.

And anyone who is dying for an overpriced low mintage Liberty Bell can have one for $10K that contains a half ounce of gold. Any takers here? Still available. The waiting room is over. It was all about buyers clubs, bots, and the silver.

But we already know you won’t believe eBay sold prices are real.

Are GC or HA prices real?

Not yet. Go grab yourself a gold one. Another winner.

So far, this is just non-collectors and their bots. Let's see who's buying from them, and at what price.

The waiting room is down, and both gold coins are available. This is just buyers club members taking free $750 shots. I don't think anyone here got one. So far, all you have is 2,000 people who don't collect grabbing them. Are YOU paying up to buy one from them?

    You're awfully quiet :D

Yeah. I have nothing to say yet. Bots grabbed 2K silver medals in under 30 seconds. Gold coins are still available at 12:15.

So I have no idea what actual demand is, other someone sent an army of computers to snatch up 2K half ounces of silver at $750 each. Now, with confirmed orders, let's see where the eBay sales go.

Maybe a winner, but people having no interest in the gold suggests otherwise. As I expected, people bought these to flip. The question now is, to who? Maybe the TV guys. You interested in buying, or just in selling?

Some reports say 34 second sellout but I feel like even at that, somebody in here has some luck.

Yeah. Maybe. I'm surprised the gold sold out. I guess you could still get yourself a $20K version. Quite a keepsake to celebrate your win today.

Yes, as PT Barnum famously said "No one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence [or ignorance] of the American public." I do manage to keep forgetting this.

You were right. People cannot pay enough for a US Mint product is the mintage is low enough. Still not sure what the final home for these will be, but I'm sure Magic Mike and those brilliant eBay bidders will figure it out.

As a consolation prize, if these now go as high as it appears they will, at least momentarily, you should at least concede that all those eBay pre-sales you proudly posted will turn out to have been fictitious.

Coworker was able to cart one but sold out before they could even get to the checkout. Not sure how quickly they got in.

Dang it. Had three devices going trying to get anything I could. By the time I was logged in only the 1 ounce gold was available. Kept trying to pay with a debit card and it would not go through. Not sure if my limit was not high enough or what. Tried to get it to use my PayPal and it was not showing as an option. Oh well. Congrats to those who got some! Condolences to NJ.

This really might change the way the mint sells products from now on. Look what the revenue was from the average commemorative program. Barely anything.

That 1 ounce gold coin generated nearly 40 million bucks in less than half an hour

No wonder if they’re going to do the 2.5 ounce silver quarters at auction

Yeah, but they can probably only do it a few times a year before the population gets overwhelmed.

@jmlanzaf can we call him out for providing zero evidence that the sellout was driven by bots?

I’d like to see some proof for this assertion.

I wonder if gold may actually settle much lower than cost. the premiums just were too much.
