Burnished fractional gold eagles were only made from 2006 to 2008, with the 2008-W having the lowest mintage of the tenth ounce coins at 12,657. With the surge in the price of gold, I suspect that some were sent to smelters. I'd rather have this coin for a small premium than one minted by the hundreds of thousands.

That’s a VERY nice 93s. So much more attractive than a scuffed-up MS example.
Thank you. I appreciate your kind words. I bought the 93-O first, love the coin. Then the 93-P. Then I found the CC coin. The 93-S was tough. Saw this coin a few years ago. I was the underbidder in a Heritage auction. Had a second chance at it and didn't hesitate.
Lots of super cool additions to this thread lately.
Here are a couple of V nickels I picked up from a small lot of misc. coins.
The seller's photos were horrible (yes, worse than mine if you can imagine...).
I was happy to see a semi-key date and a charming PL (or proof?) No Cents 1883.
(Straight into a Dansco type set.)
Anybody have Kens address or Phone number? Been gone for a year now and just wondering where he is at? I know last we talked he was just retiring and had a honey do list so hopefully just enjoying Life.

@jom loving your half eagles!
Edit to add: are you building a set with OGHs?
"She comes out of the sun in a silk dress,
running like a water color in the rain...."
No...not exactly. The coins must have a certain color I like but has to be CAC. The old holder isn't necessary for my set.

Another coin down in my 1916 Mint Set hunt from HA
Some pickups from last friday

Nice AU 10 Centavos that I traded a couple silver quarters for
I spotted this while looking for SLQs and couldn't pass it up. It has a very nice look in hand
I fished through a few cheap foreign coin bins. I found two small silver coins and sold them for a couple bucks
Picked up some large (to me) purchases the past two weeks.
That is a wonderful pair of coins. Congratulations.
GC auction win last Sunday:
