Dunno, man. My silver proof sets should arrive tomorrow!
Seeing that people are selling the penny for $167, I wish I'd ordered 10 instead of 2
One can find them on the 'Bay less expensive
I'm not saying I don't believe you but...why would someone buy a silver proof set from the Mint for $245 and sell it for LESS on eBay, rather than just returning it?

I was fortunate that all my sets arrived by Ground Advantage Saturday. For me, that is not typical for that USPS service.
The silver pieces all look great. I know some do not like the quarter obverses, but even those are etched pretty good. Sold all of the quarters anyway and most of Sacagawea's. Most of the pennies and halves are getting the PCGS 948 label and FS designations. I already bought a 948 FS 70 dime on a presale for under $100. That is a good deal when you factor in the costs for how I want one graded. Some of the graded ones will be sold, some kept and some will be gifts for the 14 grandchildren.

Within a month there will probably be 5,000+ for sale on eBay. I see them selling for $200 within a couple months. Just way too many made for the true demand.
I think that a fall in a couple on months is too soon, but I’d say you will see an adjustment within a few years.
There will be some very high prices paid for pieces in PR-70 DCam holders. The registry crowd will support that. I have fallen off the registry wagon. It’s too expensive to keep up with it. I am a pulper compared to the guys who collect Proof gold type coins. My nice Mint State and AU coins for the early gold pieces aren’t good enough. Registry demand is driving the very high prices for Proof gold type coins.
Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

I'm not sure they will ship early. With all the already promised back orders on just about everything, they'll be busy all of Fall catching up. Perhaps that's why the schedule is so light in the Fall.
The lack of truth and integrity continues every day. Remember that “Box of Chocolates” thing. 🫣🫢😸

My two sets showed up today. Everything undamaged and coins appear perfect. Almost wish I could keep one, but they're both going to be Christmas gifts.
Mine showed up yesterday. Free shipping pristine box. I give it a CB70 Dry. 😁
Don’t know what I am going to do with it yet, but will probably open and keep it .

Looks like backorder dime bags are shipping early. My credit card was just hit with the charge. It’s the mint “you never know what you will get or when you get it”

Put my big eye on 6 of these again and quality control is lacking. First glance 2 were bad, second glance 5 were lacking. 70's are going to be less than plentiful. And what's up with scruffy plastic cases. Suction cup marked perimeters like Philly, foggy spotted Cents, foggy fields on Saq $ too, etc... And there's no paid for return label now. I am very happy with what I kept. I am going to rethink any future proof issue purchases in 2026. Put a glass on your goodies, you got 7 days. Tick ... ... or Surprise !

That's why I also locked in a presale purchase of all coins in PR70DCAM. The early listings were way cheaper than the current listings.
I was happy to see the SF Mint still producing this year. How was the Cali Innovation dollar NOT struck there - the cradle of innovation in modern America.
Love that Milled British (1830-1960) Well, just Love coins, period.
Yes, I remain over the moon that I bought this a few years ago.
First items Dad bought from USMINT were Unc 1971S $ struck in 40% Silver.
I inherited the 20 he ordered which are still in opened US mailed packages sent to address we moved from long ago. None of those are like this but it felt like it was a very good obvious error to pursue when opportunity popped up.
As I am buy & hold collector, this one's sticky for next two decades.

Man I was sweating my return of 5 silver proof sets. Instead of pointing out flaws as I have done in the past 15 years I used "changed mind". Took 5 days for full refund email. I kept one great set, no fog on the Cent among other random things that plagued the 5.
So I am into 1 near perfect/perfect set for $300 as I paid next day to me and insured priority back to Texas. On final inspection I really wanted two sets, but one is better than none. Actually I wanted 6 they sent me. Put a good glass on your sets, whatever they used to clean cent planchets left a residue, a fog in the fields. And considering there's another 420,000 clad proof sets with potentially same obsolete foggy Cent planchets there's going to be a bunch to choose from, like 3/4 Million.

I thought that the mint won't ding your CC until they ship?? I just got dinged on my CC for the half dollar bag that says backodered
Does that mean that shipped it? Didn't receive a conformation of shipping

246K sold per 6/22 sales report with at least another 49K available this morning,
Mintage numbers: First about 151K (last years, I guess), then 250K, then 271K, now ???
I put one into my cart and it didn’t say anything about being a back order. Im unable to check ATS right now, but was there really a 49,000 inventory as add to bag today?

Current ATS: 48,550
Availability shows "In Stock", In Stock Date shows "Aug 07 2026". Assuming most of that ATS will become backorder.

That’s way too many for returns. Looks like the mintage will be raised to over 300,000 easily.

Here’s this year’s set. 271,520 with the last sales report saying 246,287 sets had been sold. Early reports this morning claimed 50,200 were available in inventory to purchase.
Next week’s sales report will give the answer to “did we go over again?” or not.
I've seen an awful lot of reports of returns, some just for price but many for poor quality.
Do they refurbish or resell the quality rejects?
I've never had to return anything.

They inspect them before they resell them. They used to have a small overage to replace actual defective coins. I don't know if that's still true, but assume it is.

I looked at 20 sets. One or two sets were very nice. the rest had minor issues here and there. The dollar coins had some weird stuff going on. Looked like debris encased with the coin.

Well I embraced the 151520 max mintage and spent time getting to HHL 10 while those numbers were public.
Then it popped to 250,520 and I got unhappy.
So I responded & dropped 10 to 4 then bumped up to 6 as I got the FOMO, specifically the desire to have quality keeper sets.
Now we know max mintages are moving targets in 2026 with new hire Hollis running Mint programs.

I just opened up my silver proof set. There are some neat designs in the set.
I do not like seeing all those initials glinting back on those proof fields.
Although I like the set overall, I almost have buyers remorse with the price I had to pay to get it. I'm glad I dropped my subscription down to one.
