Man I was sweating my return of 5 silver proof sets. Instead of pointing out flaws as I have done in the past 15 years I used "changed mind". Took 5 days for full refund email. I kept one great set, no fog on the Cent among other random things that plagued the 5.

So I am into 1 near perfect/perfect set for $300 as I paid next day to me and insured priority back to Texas. On final inspection I really wanted two sets, but one is better than none. Actually I wanted 6 they sent me. Put a good glass on your sets, whatever they used to clean cent planchets left a residue, a fog in the fields. And considering there's another 420,000 clad proof sets with potentially same obsolete foggy Cent planchets there's going to be a bunch to choose from, like 3/4 Million.

    I am 1 for 6, almost 17% success rate.

    Happy Hunting !

I will be returing my set and I used the shipping label provivided on the invoice,
Do I have to pay for shipping?

    @Mr Lindy
    Forget the question above
I went to the mint web site and found the return tab

My return was highest value I ever made so I wanted to be insured at full purchase. I took several pics pre package and a couple post office after hand off. The Mint text tells people they are not liable for uninsured returns and their return label is not insured. $34 cost paid by me and got confirmed for full amount days ago but credit not yet landed.

$1,225 credit arrived just in time this Tuesday morning for the 10 baseless mint sets purchase today a launch.

    Hmmm!
246K sold per 6/22 sales report with at least another 49K available this morning,

Mintage numbers: First about 151K (last years, I guess), then 250K, then 271K, now ???

    Hmmm again!
About 214K sold per 6/28 sales report with about 25K available this morning.

That’s a lot of returns. Any guesses about the final mintage? Good luck.

    Same here.
I should have said final sales.
Seems like a lot of the product is unacceptable.

As long as they met Mint standards, they will stay on sale until sold out. I doubt they will replace anything they decide to scrap. But the standard isn't 70s. Final sales may be more like 260k.

I bought a 2025 clad proof set in a coin show once but after a few months the cent, nickel, and half dollar started showing fog. Had to crack it open and give it away to someone. Hope that doesn't happen with the 2026 set I'm about to receive

I ordered some of the silver proof sets, when they added a bunch, and every single one is a return. how do I know? Every single one has one or two fingernail indents where you pull the tab out of the box to remove the coins. Every single one has scrape marks on the outer sleeve as if they were sliding against each other many times and all looked dirty/dingy.

The US Mint also shipped me a returned congratulations set. The coin was clearly handled and wiped off (scratches and greasy finger prints on plastic capsule) and it looked like the coin was removed from the capsule as the capsule was significantly separated where I could remove the two pieces with very little effort.

I didn't think they shipped returns but wow, they didn't even try to make them look new. New outer sleeves on the silver proof sets would have been great.

The inspect returns and then resell them if they pass.

The way the silver proof sets are packaged, especially for orders of 99, what you are describing can easily happen even if they were never actually opened. They are definitely returns if you see spots on the pennies as has been widely reported, not so sure about the rest.
