    Yup. Buck a spoon. All marked sterling, except one. I took a chance on it because it was stamped "Italy" and tarnished. It didnt test as silver.

    When I see Souvenir spoons they are usually non silver.

    Yup..usually just plated, if that. There were probably 100 in the lot, so I guess everyone else just assumed the same.

    Estes Park is near here. We go there often. That spoon would probably sell for a premium at one of the souvenir shops in the town.

    Mexican silver is often 800 fine, not 925. The Cape Hatteras spoon might not be silver (based on the color of it as it appears in the photo).

    Still, quite a bargain for the lot.

    The Mexican silver is marked 925. I acid tested all spoons. There is one spoon from Holland that tests as silver, but is probably .800.

    And an acid test can help determine that. Most Mexican silver I've encountered is 900+.

    I happen by the coin shop this afternoon and there was another B.R. MacKay & Sons Inc silver bar.
    This is the last one that a lady had to sell, so I negotiated a trade for 12 Norfed dollars.
