So I just purchased this 1854 with arrows half dime for my type set. Hope these couple of pictures are adequate to make an accurate determination. Guess away.

Best I can do with 2 additional pictures

So, not as many correct responses as I would have expected. For those who guessed MS65, good grading, (despite the criticism of the photos).

Images are entirely tough to give a proper assessment, but the luster is strong! 64?

The first close-up photos made it seem like there were light marks on Ms. Liberty's right arm. That's why some people graded it lower.

NGC graded this one MS-62. I bought this one 27 years ago. Why have I not gone for an upgrade? It's hard to sell the pieces which have been displaced. Too many dealers have this attitude that you only give “the public” low ball offers. When I was I dealer, and I really liked the piece, I paid “bid.” That worked for me. I seldom lost money.

Given that, I seldom do upgrades.

Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

Bill, your piece looks under graded by at least a point or maybe 2. Very nice piece.
I guess the lighting was a bit off in the first set of photos. Doesn’t become apparent until I post them and can actually see what others may be seeing. Zack.
