Snagged this yesterday. Seems like Aaron cards are climbing pretty consistently across the board right now. About a year ago I made a spreadsheet tracking recent sales on all of them, and most have jumped around 10-15% since then. Some sellers are even listing stuff at 25-35% above recent comps now, which probably means I need to start paying closer attention to auctions again.
This was a late night, few to many rums, purchase. These are getting harder to find. Tilt isn’t ideal but print and corners are bang on. Back in hand is such a vibrant yellow.
You aren't going to believe this and it would never happen today, but I received 3 PSA 10's in one order for a 1997 Atomic Refractor International Griffey Jr's. There are only 14 today, when I did this i think there were only 7. Been about 12 years or so, when you could pick them up for $5 a piece.
Anyways..Nice pick up by you with this card. Great Investment too.
The board veterans probably know that I’m a rabid Mickey Mantle fan and collector. There are items I have that PSA grades, and others I have that they do not grade. While PSA currently does grade every other Yankees/Mantle Trifold, they do not grade this one as it is not dated like every other one is in the lower right hand corner.
Now, I have always gravitated toward the rarer issues, especially, from 1951-1969. So, this one is a pretty special grab for me. As we all know, the last year Mickey Mantle played baseball was 1968. However, the Yankees asked Mantle to wait until just before the 1969 season started to publicly announce his retirement so that he would be 100% sure (but really it was to sell merchandise and ticket packages for the upcoming 1969 season as if Mickey would still be playing). I believe that contributes to add credence to the identity of this as yet undated Trifold. Most of the other 1960’s years feature a date of print on the bottom right along with a print count. This one is print count only and I believe it was because they figured it would be the last run they would print. The run - 1500 copies, ones of the smallest numbers they had ever printed to that point - was going to cover any remaining autograph requests that may come in during the ‘68-69 offseason and help maintain the ruse that he was going to be to playing in 1969. Note the referenced career total of HR (536) to show it could not be any earlier.
Applying some logic here, if a person writes to a team seeking a player autograph from a retired player, any team during any time period is going to tell the fan - if they even bother to respond - that the player is no longer with the team and therefore they can’t help you out as they don’t have access to said player, possibly suggesting that try to you contact the agent or player directly.
Ultimately, that same exact Trifold layout would would end up being used one last time (and this time, dated) because they printed up one more batch (1000 copies), in 1970, with a date of 8/70 printed on it when Mickey Mantle returned to coach first base in August of 1970 in what was his final appearance as Yankees player or coach.
Also, the other reason I believe there is a very high likelihood that it is from 1969 is that it came in the original, postmarked envelope that is dated Feb 1969. 😉

It's been a very good month so far with 2 nice additions to my Derek Sanderson and Bobby Orr collections.
Say what you want about the shiny new stuff, but The Cup product for hockey is pretty darn nice. I added a nice Sanderson card in a St Louis Blues uniform with a great autograph.
As for the old stuff, I was able to add a 1969 OPC Four in One card featuring Bobby but with an added bonus of having one of my all time favorite goalies along side him. With Orr having sold his website to Upper Deck, there hasn't been and most likely won't be any future opportunities to finish the remaining few cards I need so I've opted to buy high end unsigned copies to finish off my Orr collection.
I've been collecting cards for 40 years and it remains a joy.
Decided to upgrade my Crochet from a base refractor #/499 (also a PSA 9) to this one. His market's a little down while he's on the IL.
Nice color match even though he really won't be remembered much as a White Sox.
@1982FBWaxMemories .....Aaron Judge is listed as a catcher on his 2018 Topps Heritage "Nickname" variation card [#25] due to a well-known printing error. Topps carried over the catcher position text from the card template used for former Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos—who had that exact same Nickname variation—when producing Judge's variation. The error occurred because Topps reused a layout template without updating the position field; on the very same variation list, catcher Wilson Ramos was card #151 with the nickname "Mr. Miami". ~ Looking at an extra 1.1 - 1.2 million in value....lol.....:)

Thank you! It's a tough low pop one, so I was happy to snag it. I'm sure that is a cool looking board game. I know there was a video of him commenting on the players he played with and against, while looking at an album of '52 topps.
It took me a long time, but I finally was able to add a 1953-55 Dormand Whitey Ford in a PSA 7 (Pop 4 with nothing higher). I have always been a fan of this set. I have included some others in my collection. I just focus on the HOFers.

I rewatched for the 20 something time this morning the 1976 AL Championship Game 5 between the Kansas City Royals and the NY Yankees on YOUTUBE. One of the greatest playoffs games in the history of baseball. For those of you who love George Brett I highly recommend you watch the game. Its available on YOUTUBE for free.
I'm bringing this up because your cards are all from the 1976 Yankee team.
