Holy moly, that is a spectacularly beautiful coin and coin design. Sad that we can’t issue coins as beautiful as our early 20th century issues anymore.

Other passions include golf, Moto Guzzi motorcycles, and Euro motorcycles in general.

This is more accurate of the color (found a pic - source of my home screen).

Nice coin but that isn't an Indian. ;)

Congratulations on a great looking acquisition. When it comes to the sandblast Proofs, 1911 is my favorite year/color and texture.

That is an interesting comment. How do you find the texture and color differs among the years? I have read the texture depends on the fineness of the sand grains used, but didn’t consider that would differ noticeably. Are the color/texture differences significant enough that (in-hand) you could determine the year by only looking at the reverses?

Nothing is as expensive as free money.

Great coin and congrats. I had never seen one of these in person until this past week at the PCGS trade and grade show.

Thanks Gents. To Feldini's point, this coin under a 10X looks like it was coated in fine gold beach sand.

I also just recently bought a coin from the same collection. I would post it but I have forgotten how to do it.
    The PCGS cert number is 82990824. A 1909 $5 PCGS 66+ cac.
Maybe some one can post it for me.
    Thanks

Your gorgeous coin is a 1908, not 1909.

    Sandblast proof… That’s exceptional!

I just got my example recently, in the last six months thanks to @justindan

That is still to this day one of the best $2.5 Indians I've ever owned. Glad it ended up with a good friend!

Thank you, my friend! I’m very proud to own it! :)
