Post your "Key Dates"...
We've probably done this before... this is inspired by a recent thread about series with NO key dates... For the longest time the only Lincoln Cent I owned was an ANACS XF 1909-S VDB. When I sold that piece after liquidating the collection, I thought I had left Lincoln Cents for good... until my brother gave me his childhood collection and a bunch of Lincoln Cents (including a cleaned G4 1914-D and a fairly nice F-ish 1909-S)! Since the only piece I needed was the ubiquitous 1909-S VDB, I purchased this one to effectively complete the set... again. This one is currently in my Box of 20...
So, post your Key Dates!

Only 4 of these known to exist with the perfect reverse. Got lucky grabbing this one from @Desert Moon

Just got this graded.

Genny but nicer than some straight grade coins I’ve seen:

Love the Lincolns and that 1917DDO is incredible. Earlier today I was just musing that I hadn't ever seen one better than about VF -- now I have. Just beautiful.
edit: As is the 14-D
Just remember...the advice you receive on the site is worth every bit of what you paid for it.
Took me a long time to find an MS64 I liked to complete my set.
Thanks, here are the slabs, I am going to get the 1917 DDO re-slabbed as it is old and kind of opaque (I have one more to get in mint state to finish my MS wheat set -- the 1922 No D Strong Reverse but they are scarce in nice shape).

And speaking of the road least traveled... this is a key as well as a condition rarity as it is currently the only MS example graded.
Experience the World through Numismatics...it's more than you can imagine.
For Middle Date Large Cents the 1839/6 is a tougher piece... I think it's considered more of a variety than a "Key Date" though...

1915-S USPI One Centavo

Since no one has posted any Morgans yet, decided to post a few of my favorites. Although not rare as many of the above coins, the POPS for these are lower then most Morgans. 89CC in VF25, 93-O in VF30, 94 P in VF35, and 03-S in XF40. Like how they reflect the grade progression.
What about these?
Was this a pocket piece or did you find it in circulation?
I think this is the only key date I own (has CAC bean):
"She comes out of the sun in a silk dress,
running like a water color in the rain...."
Pocket piece—that’s number two. I did put another one in circulation by accident though, I still check change for it. I put this one away when I found it on the laundry room floor.
Whitman took the slot away in later issues.
I was very fortunate to have acquired this up a couple of years ago, which is the key date to the Capped Bust Half, Lettered Edge series. There are other, rarer issues and DM's (of course), but not from a year set standpoint;
Key Date With Bold Eye Appeal
The later state of the 1815/2 reverse die is identified by the numerous die cracks appearing near the rims and connecting many of the devices. Some clashing from the obverse appears as well. This key date consisted of 47,150 pieces, all struck from the single O-101 die pair. Bright luster complements the silver-rose surfaces, imparting bold eye appeal.
This piece was described in the Thomas S. Chalkley Collection (1990) as being "especially well struck in the centers".
Partial description above from the Hamilton Collection, Part II (2016).

Subject to the usual caveat that the definition of "key dates" is squishy (and I don't want to include semi-key dates), here's my take for the series I collect (in addition to the Lincoln cents posted above):
Buffalo Nickels:

Mercury Dimes:

Standing Liberty Quarter:

Walking Liberty Half Dollars:

Morgan Dollars:

Some great coins here! I'm curious what the 1843-O 10C grades? It looks like EF-40 or at worst VF-35. The central detail on the leaves on the reverse are struck better than most of them.
Thank you! I don't think it quite makes EF-40, but VF-35 would seem right.
Ef40 all day in my book, full details with minimal highpoint loss in the hair, little to no remaining luster

This isn’t a valuable coin nor is it uncirculated but this 1938-S nickel is my first key date of any type. I found it in a nickel roll today!
