Picked up a couple of "obligatory" pieces over the past week.
I didn't have anything to represent this area of DC's creations, so I went with a couple of what I consider "half breeds," but the quality and detail of the design and engraving still shines through . . . . . .
They were inexpensive enough.

1622 Atocha Cob - mintage ~6,650

Older post but a question. @ZoidMeister Where did you find the mintage figure of 6650 for this one?
As Dan mentioned, at the time that post was made, the quantity was correct.

BUT the best part was this little surprise!
Was the double struck a request or a DC bonus?
.
The store allowed one more order than I had coins to fill those orders.
So I had to fill the last order with something. I had two of the double-struck prices and so I kept one and let go of the other.
In other words, it was a "fluke" situation. It was a true error, but more of an inventory error than a minting error.
. @dcarr - Can you expand a bit on Zachary Askeland's initials (ZA) added to the 2025 Norse American Bicentennial octagon?
.
He is a friend of mine from local coin shows and coin club meetings. He is also of Norwegian ancestry. He proposed that these be made and we split the mintage between us. I sold most of mine (but kept a few examples). Zachary is not selling his. He gave some to extended family members.
We want the .02! “1874” Shield Two Cents. Post, post, post!
We love your work. Can't wait to see what other surprises are in store for 2026. Hopefully some amazing 250 America Anniversary and maybe some Lincolns too!
If I'd known the Norwegian octogen would sell out so quick I would have made that my first purchase. If anyone has an extra laying around let me know!
I'll pick up 2 or 3 if/when Dan lists some additional item(s). I hate paying shipping for a single item. 🤞
Right, I had just gotten the new Morgan and Winged St Gaudens, I went ahead though, didn't want to miss this one, even though it's outside my normal interest.
@dcarr
I'm confused according to MCCC there is supposed to be a 2 troy oz. silver piedfort token, but it's not listed in the production schedule.
For the club's silver jubilee, the club will have four 41mm octagonal medals minted. They are:
a copper medal,
a one troy ounce .999 silver medal,
a copper piedfort, and
a two troy ounce .999 silver piedfort.
Mine shipped today and should arrive Wednesday
Here's a couple of interesting facts about our medals:
the silver medals have an average weight of about 32.55 grams (or a little more the one troy ounce at 31.10 grams)
the silver piedfort medals have an average weight of about 64.22 grams
the thin copper medal has a average weight of 28.55 grams (or a little more the one avoirdupois ounce at 28.35 grams)
the thick copper medal has a average weight of 38.62 grams
Here is my complete updated collection minus duplicates, arranged by date, mintmark and planchet. Only one is slightly out of order, but it's not too noticeable. I was surprised at how many duplicates I had, wow.

Received my MCCC Thin Copper Medal today.
I was not fast enough for the Silver Version.
I understand the silver sells out very quickly. I just received the copper piedfort - beautiful, so glad I went for this, not in my usual realm. Doing more research on the MCCC, I wish I had known about them last year, the Bela Lyon Pratt is a favorite of mine, would love to get it as well, even in copper.
Which is the thick copper and thick silver and how does the serial number appear on the edge?
the 2 on the left are are the thick silver and the 3rd ones in from the left are the thick copper
Only the silver ones are edge marked, this image shows the #30 .

....YeeHaw !!!

Back from Long Beach an picked this up at the post office.
How do unreleased coins show up here or on ebay faster than on Dan's site?
It can happen once in a while when I sell some at a local coin show before I get around to listing them in my store.

Don't forget .03 or .20?
I always love the PanPac coins.
I was going to grab the bar but thought best to leave if for someone that owns other bars. I don't have any.
It is interesting that the description show 20.8 troy oz but the bar is marked 21.8 oz. Someone will be a surprise oz unless they noticed that.
