Picked up at a pawn shop for $60 today, roughly half of melt value. This shop is smart and reprices everything daily, but I guess they forgot about the proof sets
Another win from the Terry's Toners collection featured on GC. @giorgio11 This one goes into my colorful proof Washington Quarters registry set (1932-1998).

I just bought, and am waiting for, these two SLQs that will be the final coins in my 20th century type set (no gold). I am obsessing over tracking. There’s nothing like putting that last coin in a set!

Hard to find old doily holder housing a nice, original example of the 1838 No Drapery 25C. Coin also shows semi PL surfaces. Admittedly, I don’t like coins that are carelessly slabbed like this one. Plus, imo, it’s barely a 58 - the high points are pretty much undisturbed but the marks are
”55ish”. Still, the overall “package” makes it a solid buy.

I’ve wanted an 1883 3CN that fit my profile since I was a kid pouring over the Red Book. That mintage figure of 4,000 always captivated me back then. I have a “business strike only” rule for my 7070 registries that runs all the way back to when I was a kid, so this particular coin was always of interest to me as a kid who used to pour over the Red Book (and Beckett price guides) as if they were holy scripture.
Anyways, nice even wear on this one. The original problem free surfaces and crisp lines still extant on the reverse “III” pretty much sealed the deal for me as soon as I saw this lot come up.
Scratched the ‘proof Morgan’ off my want list at the 2026 FUN show in Orlando a few weeks ago. Sent off for a green bean but shot down. Oh well, I love it anyway. Mintage 250.
@pcgscacgold, nice Commems! I don’t know what it is about these classic silver commems, they’re just so intriguing and the low mintages in the later stages of some series add to their story.

Another worn Canadian half dollar of the same date for my abandoned Dansco Canada Type album. Mine cost $19 and sold for $19. In general, buy holed coins if I can receive a 90% discount under its unmolested price.
