Poll: Trade silver for gold, gold for silver, or make no move

philographerphilographer Posts: 1,382 ✭✭✭✭✭

Hypothetical. You have a dollar amount in gold, and an equal dollar amount in silver. Is it a good time to trade silver for gold, or gold for silver? Or is it best to keep the allocation as it is currently, an equal $$$ split. What’s your thinking?

My thinking? Keep things as they are. There are benefits to holding both. Each has its own drivers of demand (central bank buying, industrial applications), and a few that are shared (exchange rate/ currency).

At the same time, I’m not a fan of how heavy and bulky silver is!

He who knows he has enough is rich.

    Trade Silver for Gold

I sold gold and bought more silver, kept some cash for other projects. My intention is to buy more gold when the GSR has declined significantly further.

Rick rule sold 80% of his physical silver in order to buy silver mining stocks. He says that the bull market will continue at least another 5 years, but to expect volatility. Others don't expect a retracement in the price of silver and that it is establishing a new price level yet to be determined.

Peter Carlin, Jim Sinclair's co-author doesn't think silver is going back down, Dave Jensen believes that there is a silver squeeze in progress.

The Gold Silver Ratio is headed to single digits, so Silver is going to outperform gold for a while.

I say hold the line! If I had a nickel for every time I've heard "this time is different....." This time is obviously different! I'm holding the line as I have no idea how much crazier gold and silver is going to go!

What was your oldest box, bro?
I know you have bought the boxes for awhile, and sold over time as well...it wasn't all in the last 4 months, even if that pic is what you did in the last 4 months. You've done it the right way

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment
